Ok so my 2yo turned off our freezer in the front room without us knowing it...my ENTIRE stash of breastmilk has thawed out. Completely. I threw it in the freezer, but since its been thawed its useless isn't it? NOW how I am supposed to go to NC when MONTHS of pumping has just been destroyed? I'm really crying over spilt milk.

OK after freaking out and double checking it...its still hard in the middle, but its squishy around the edges. So not completely thawed? Do I have to toss it? Or can I refreeze it?

I say refreeze until you get a solid answer.

That same thing happened to me when DD was a baby. I sobbed!! Then, I just fed her that milk, and pumped fresh and froze it. If it was mostly frozen, I just kept it in the freezer. Ugh..I feel for you... :-(

If there were still ice crystals, you can refreeze!

its not that the milk is spoiled - its that it has lost some of its nutrients...at least that's what I *think* try google or kellymom

OMG :[ that really sucks!!! I hated throwing even the tiniest bit when I pumped. Pumping is so much work. I really hope you were able to salvage it.

What did you decide to do?? I would have been devastated!!!

It was frozen enough to refreeze thank goodness after caling a LC they said it would be fine.
