When you have a c-section, can you be on pain medication and still breastfeed????

Thank you! I don't know if I'm having one or not; the plan is still for me to have a vaginal birth. Was just curious in case anything changes

I was on T3's while bfing my first (along with whatever else they gave me) so I am assuming yes.

Yes. I did not have any problems breastfeeding after my c-section. Milk came in before I left the hospital and I was on some pain meds for several days.

All the narcotic pain medications that are given during labor and post-partum are safe for breast-feeding

I had a vag birth but I tore a lot so I was on 2 kinds of pain medications and yes they are safe

I wasn't on any pain meds after my c-section, so everything was a-ok!
