Our loan person called me yesterday afternoon to ask about an inquiry on our credit report something creations (sounded like zap but a different spelling). We've never heard of the company before and haven't given our SS # to anyone (but my mother does have mine and she did hack into my cell phone account which if she had just been patient I could have taken care of it the next day. No harm done - but principle!). So, since you can pull your credit report three times per year with the 3 different companies for free, we pulled ours last night. Nothing showed up on DH's, at first DH had an issue pulling mine up (said I need to send something via mail b/c of an error) but then it pulled up on another site just fine and no record of this company on either report.

I emailed the loan processor and asked if she can provide us a copy of the report she is looking at because we do not see it on either of our credit reports, so we shall see what that produces.

I just am really confused! She didn't sound like it was a big deal, but I'm concerned. The only thing I could think, is that we signed DD up for Karate(ATA if you're familiar with them). Its a 6 month thing, they go through some company to manage the accounts in the mid-west. HOWEVER, we never put our SS # on anything. I'm getting really worried if you can't tell!

A company doesn't need your SS# to be able to pull your credit report-they do have to have permissible purpose. Hopefully it does turn out to be nothing.

Hmmm, if thats the case I still don't know would it could have been to be interested in our credit score. hmmm.
