Since DF and I will be getting married in Ocotber I'll be switching to Tricare for my insurance - no need to pay $150 a month for my private insurance. But that means I have to swtch doctors. I LOVED my old OB and she's one of the best in the nation. Also the practice is all women which makes me so much more comfortable. Anyway, at the clinic we have to go to for tricare there's no women OBs, just a CNM. I actually don't mind that, but I sure hope I can get in with her and that she's nice. I would prefer not to have to drive to a clinic that's farther away. Anyone Else see a CNM?

A CNM delivered Lily and she was great. I'm seeing a different one this time though, she's technically a nurse practitioner now, but she has her CNM license as well.

ETA: with Vi, since I did the home birth I had midwives that were both licensed and certified professional midwives. They could only deliver at homes though, they had no hospital privileges.

I'm seeing a CPM (certified professional midwife). I know she has less "experience" than an OB, but after seeing the initial paper work she has me filling out, I know she'll be much more thorough. Hopefully you like the CNM!

I have never seen a CNM. But I do know how scary it can be to have to find a new doctor. I had to get a different one this time around. I was lucky though that I really found a good one the first try.
