I had my 19/20 week u/s today and my placenta is completely covering the cervix Looks like the likelihood of it moving and me having a vaginal birth are slim to none. They will still monitor me, but I'm trying to keep it realistic in my mind and prepare myself.

So that's my Hadley Kate. Perfectly healthy and growing beautifully.

My placenta is up too, they said it would move down. Hmmm....maybe mine isn't as high as yours?

A high placenta is a good thing. A low lying placenta that covers the cervix is a previa.

I'm sorry babe. If it hels, I didn't find the c section to be all that bad. Hopefully it does move, and you can get your vaginal birth. But I know that I had ideas of how horrible a c section would be, and it wasn't near as bad as id heard. I had caginal births with my ifrst two and had no reason to expect any different when I went into labor with caroline. Dik, I hope it helps put your mind at ease some!!

Such a beautiful name! I'm sorry you're having placenta issues - hopefully there's still time for things to work themselves out.

i love her name! do i see her heart?! amazing photo's! i hope it moves up yet, theres still time. but if not, a c-section really isn't too terrible, although probably not ideal. its just, the recovery isn't as bad as they make it out to be. at least for me anyhow. i was up walking and showering less than 24 hours afterwards.

That is her heart Beating at 140 bpm. SHe wasn't active today and I hadn't eaten so she was just chill. She clasped her hands a lot and drank amniotic fluid. I was nice to see her in there healthy because I dont' feel strong movement yet...just little bumps here and there.

She's a cutie!!
Hope your placenta gets with it and moves! Mine is 1cm from my cervix, so just missed the previa diagnosis, but it still has to move.

You still have a chance for it to move. With DD mine was completely covering and it moved in time. I had found out at my gender ultrasound so around 18-20 weeks. It could still move.

With DS1 I had a scan at 23 weeks that showed a complete previa. I was scanned multiple times as the pregnancy progressed and it didn't clear until 36 weeks - at 34 it was still 'touching'.

So, I would say whilst it's wise to be aware it's a possibility you may need a section, it's also possible you'll be fine for a natural vaginal delivery. If you'd rather a vaginal delivery then insist the position is checked again at 34 weeks (standard here when previa is discovered at 20 week scan) and then make a decision from there - if it's still complete at that point a section would look almost likely but if it's grade I or touching things look much more in your favour for avoiding a section.

Great baby's looking healthy though - she's so cute!

I'm going to continue to be monitored till the end. Just wishing it had been marginal instead of complete. Complete previa at 20 weeks doesn't usually resolve. Anything can happen though so I'll try and prepare my mind for both.

I'm sorry about your placenta previa. Mine is low too and I hope both of ours moves up and out of the way. Wonder if there's anything you can do to help it move up...

I asked. The fact that it is complete means there it isn't likely it will move much.

if yours is just low lying and marginal then you will probably be fine. I thought that's how mine was. They even want me on pelvic rest Not cool. I might not follow that guideline to a tee. lol
