co-sleep? I see all the posts for crib sets and envy just a lil picking one out. I had a crib with DD1 that was rarely used and never bothered with DD2 or DD3. DD2 slept in a bassinet for 3 nights and that was that. DD3 never slept anywhere but with me. When DD3 was born we all co-slept. I have read a lot of research on the effects and having more secure children/ young adults as they grow. DD3 just recently moved into her own bed... in the den part of my room. I plan to co-sleep with our new lil girl as well. Anyone else?

My babies room in and co sleep when needed for the first 5 months or so. Then I move them into their room and go in there to nurse all freaking night long! lol

I co-sleep a lot, but not full time. DS2 never liked his crib, but he slept in his cradle and is now in a toddler bed most of the night. DH sleeps with DS1 but not usually because he needs it. It just works out that way.

We co sleep until I can get them in their own rooms haha. My last baby it was just barely probably around 15 months.
I probably will do the same with this baby cause its just easier for me that way.

I co-room and sometimes c-sleep for the first 4 months.

However DS started co-sleeping with us last Spring because of ear infections, and we are still trying to get him back in his room....

We bought an arms reach co-sleeper for DS and I loved it. We used it for him until he was around 9 months then DH made me move him into his own room. We bought a crib that converted to a toddler bed then to a full size bed and I love it.

we co sleep off and on for the first few months. but DH is not a fan, he has a really hard time getting decent sleep knowing there is a baby in the room. so we moved DS to his own room when he started sleeping longer periods of time. and now he sleeps in his bed well. but if he wakes up early he can come to bed with us as long as it is past 5 in the morning.

I usally have the baby in the cradle very near the bed for the first few weeks/months, and that's what I'm basically planning this time. I am hoping to have another full size bed in whichever room I decide to use, and sleep in there with baby girl, so that DH will sleep better and his snoring won't be waking me up when I am able to sleep

DS1 didn't move to sleeping in his crib at night until probably 4/5 months, and DS2 moved at around 2 months, but that was because we were waking each other up uselessly more often than not (he snored/grunted/breathed loudly horribly b/c of enlarged adenoids/tonsils.) I'd be half-asleep and interpret noises as crying, and try to nurse him; then he'd actually cry and I'd realize I woke him up, etc. It just worked a LOT better for both of us to have him in his own room.

I am having baby in my room. I plan on buying an arms reach co-sleeper. I love the idea of co-sleeping, but I sleep ROCK HARD. WHen sis and I lived together her room was on the other side of the house, J was in my room and she would hear him before me. I say IDK if he started sleeping thru the night at 3 months or I just stopped hearing him. Anyhow, with Toryn I woke up mid roll...as I was rolling onto her. It has since FLIPPED me out and I don't do it. Only because I sleep so darn hard. I even push Mike out of bed often. I wish I could However, hopefully, this will give me the same sense or close to it at least

Only when they are born til about 4 months. And that's not by choice. More like I'm too tired to rock you so lay next to me while I snooze lol

I want my own space with hubby. Our room should be ours since it's the only place in the house we can get one on one alone time.

Nah. Ill put them next to me when they r little and nursing hourly. But I'm one who can't stand to be messed with while sleeping. And all the noises and wondering if baby is waking up makes me feel like I can't relax. but I'm sorry you feel that way. Maybe you can start on something special for baby, so you can get that exciting preparing from baby feeling?
(Oh, I don't look down on cosleeping at all. Its just not for me. My bff cosleeps and cloth diapers and all that and I adore her. )

I coslept with Kate full time for about 9 months until it was clear she was being woken up by us and the dogs at night, then I moved her into her own room (and would sleep half the night in my room, half in hers with her). She didn't really use her crib consistently until around a year old. (Now at 19 months she sleeps through the night in her crib. So clearly something worked. LOL)

We have an arm's reach cosleeper and I'm kind of hoping this baby will agree to use it for a few hours at a time.... Kate would wake up screaming every single time we put her down, which is why I ended up with her in my arms. LOL I needed sleep.

So basically I have the cosleeper but anticipate her being in my arms, but it all depends on what baby wants/needs.

We co-sleep/bed share. We don't even own a crib anymore. I do keep a bassinet and some other things set up for baby in our room though. Vi preferred to sleep on her own as a newborn/infant, while Lily liked to be right next to me at all times.

We're a cosleeping family here. When Allison was born, she ate far too much for me to be treking across the house (split floor plan) every time she wanted to eat! We had planned on her sleeping in a bassenet but she didn't like it and we didn't even own a crib so she had to go somewhere. So our bed was it. Even at almost 23 months, Allison still sleeps in our bed. It works for us. I don't see things changing with DS.

We only own a crib because my MIL had a fit when she heard Allison was sleeping in our bed and sent us a $600 gift card to Sears for a crib! It's the most expensive clothes hamper I've ever seen

Another co-sleeping/bed sharing family here. DS2 is still in our bed for part of the night. DS1 was in his crib for the first 16 months of his life. Then we moved..We got him into a twin bed then. But we moved again when he was weeks away from 2. That one really got to him. So we let him start out in his own twin bed, and whenever he woke up he was welcomed into our bed. He stopped this on his own shortly before DS2 was born. I think he was 3yr7ish months old.

Bought a new co sleeper to use for just a few months. After a few months I started to lay DS in his cribs for just naps, so he can get used to it. And at 4 months he was there all the time. I can't same bed co-sleep. I'm to needy with my space. I don't always like sharing the bed with my husband.

We co-sleep. We bought a crib for our son and rarely used it. We did have it side-carred to our bed for a while, but he always ended up in our bed anyway, so we just put it back in his room. He's still sleeping with us in our bed, and we're planning on co-sleeping with this baby too.

Yep! My DD wouldn't have anything to do with her bassinet or crib.

We co-sleep with them while they are babies. Much easier to nurse and we all sleep better. With my first son we co-slept for 10 mos, my daughter 5 mos (she wanted her own space), and with my last a year almost exactly. We co-sleep as long as we can all stand it. Ethan got to moving so much at night and waking up everytime I moved that I moved him to his own bed at 1 and he's slept through the night ever since.
