Nope we make sure they are out of reach and locked up and we do most of our cleaning at night after the kids are in bed anyways so its dry or wiped up before they walk over the floors etc.

I have allergies to harsh cleaning products so we'll be using the same things I use for the baby.

When they r little and puttng things in their mouths, I tend to go for vinigar over other products. But that's about the only change I make. I clean the highchair with a hot soapy rag. Easy peezy.

No. I used to be very crazy with germs, etc. when children were little. I think hot water and soap is best thing now. It doesn't allow for germs to become resistant or children to get sick everytime they do come across germs. I used Dreft with my son, but it didn't really get out stains. I think this time around I'm going to try natural cleaning products from around the house - vinegar, hot water, dawn for stains, etc.

Nope, too expensive and cheaper things work just as well.
I would if there was a special need to use it but otherwise I'll stick with good old fashioned soap and water.

DH does most of the cleaning around here. When he was in college, he worked for his dad's bathroom sanitation company, which I think is why he doesn't like my method of using dish soap for just about all cleaning. I had a hard time selling him on the idea of using vinegar and water on the laminate floors in our new house, but I think it will be easier to convince him NOT use harsh chemicals around the baby.
