I'm 20+6 or 21 weeks exactly depending on if I go by NHS measurements at 13 weeks or the Fetal Medicine Centre (naturally I go with the FMC who put me a day ahead - every day counts in the early days!) and today was the day for my anatomy scan.

So, FMC told me with 70% certainty at 13 weeks it was a boy.

They...

Were...

...

...

...

...

Right! Amazing to think that with top notch machines and expertise they can tell so early but apparently so!

Mostly everything looking great (tummy and femur bang on 50th percentile) but looks like I'm growing another big headed monster, with the head over the 97th percentile measuring over a week ahead. DF has a big head, as does DS2 so... my poor neither regions! All the more reason to hope they stick with inducing me little before 40 weeks. My suspicion of an anterior placenta confirmed. Consultant appointment after, I was half expecting them to sign me off to the midwives, but no. Offered me another appointment at 24 weeks 'because of what happened last time' (not usual unless it's your first or there is an issue) which I declined as I feel much calmer these days, so midwife next at 28 weeks for bloods and consultant at 29 for blood results, gtt and seeing if my new consultant agrees to induce (the guy who agreed it was best to ensure I got antibiotics in labour has now left but the new one hasn't started yet...).

All in all a lovely experience and I'm confirmed TEAM BLUE! (again!)

Congratulation on Team Blue. I hope they induce you a bit early also. I'm sure that big head doesn't come out easy!! My dr. will induce at 39 weeks if we choose to.

Congrats! My DH and both boys had watermelon heads too. I don't think I'm any worse for the wear though.

Thanks for the congrats, ladies! It's amazing the relief I actually feel today when I didn't think I was stressing too much about the scan (especially since I have been feeling movements the last week and a half or so).

As for names, we've only very recently just randomly plucked a name fromt he air as we drove to a restaurant. DF says 'How about Laurie?' and then we both said how we'd known a Laurie who was lovely and so we both kinda went 'I like it'. Would put Laurence on the birth certificate though, as it's my preference that although we like the shortened form of the name, the baby should have the option to use the full, formal version - particularly when an adult and possibly in a profession which would call for projecting a certain image. Pretty much the way I've always been called Mandy by my family/people that have known me since school, but since leaving school and going into the workforce, anyone meeting me since then knows me as Amanda.

So. Not firmly set on Laurence/Laurie but it's on the table, so to speak.
