Do you notice if they're more frequent or painful at night?? Last night it was bad...I had 8 in a matter of 50 minutes so I ended up calling my doctor. They kept me up pretty much all last night, but today during the day I only noticed maybe three, tops. But now, I'm feeling them again, at least once every half an hour (but not nearly as painful as they were last night). So I started thinking and pretty much every time the BHs start to bother me, it's at night. This happen to anyone else?? Anyone else know why??

I haven't notice a time of day. I did have a MW appt today and mentioned them to her. She said more than 4 in an hour and call. She did check my cervix and it was thick and tight. I hope you feel better dear! I have NEVER had them this early on in pregnancy!

You might want to check with your dr. I talked to my dr. about them on Tuesday and he said they will be very sporadic. I hope they get better soon.

I've mentioned them at my last two appointments. And I spoke to my doc last night (but this was before I figured out that they're happening more at night). He said it's not a real concern for me because I'm not at risk for premature labor. I did what my midwife told me to do though, I tried walking (because I had been resting), and I called the doc because I had more than 6 in an hour.

I'm just wondering if it's something I'm doing at night that triggers them, or if there's a way I can prevent them. I'm already chugging water and gatorade like crazy, so I know it's not a hydration issue. I just think it's so odd that it only happens to me at night

Water should definitely help. I wonder if maybe your dehydrated by the evening or something. Mine happen more during the day when I'm at work. I'm usually sitting at my desk working. I have no idea how to prevent them. Hopefully somebody else has a better answer. How are they tonight? Better?

Yup, last night they were much better. I felt them coming and going, but no where near as painful as the ones previously. So far tonight I'm doing pretty good, I've only felt a couple of them today. I'm trying to keep drinking, especially after dinner just in case it is a hydration issue, so we'll see if it happens again now that I'm so focused on keeping myself hydrated. The only bummer is my bladder is the size of a sweet pea so I feel like I'm living in the bathroom! lol I went frequently before, but now it's like I'll get done and not even five minutes later feel like my bladder is full again!

Mine occur more at night as well. I've been told that it's more common to get them more frequently with each pregnancy, which has held true for me. Towards the end with Vi, I was having them all the freaking time, it was super annoying.

Do they go away if you take a warm/hot shower?

LOL. Yes I am trying to make an effort also to stay hydrated but I feel like I live in the bathroom these days. We go to bed and I swear that I'm up and down for about an hour after we lay down. Hope the hydration continues to help.

Mine are at night as well, very painful, and many at once. I asked about them and am told that the progesterone will calm my uterus.... that is all the dr would say about it..?? Anyway, what worries me is that I did the same thing with DD2 and they finally told me that they were actually real and that I was in preterm labor. I ended up in the er several times and had to have shots to stop the labor. The last time it took way more shots to stop the labor and they finally put me on meds every 4 hours. The bad thing is this time I have taken my shot and still have them.......

Mine are sporadic throughout the day. Not painful either...but my labor never got worse than mild either.

That's what I'm so afraid of. I know they're Braxton Hicks, but there's a little piece of me that's paranoid about recognizing pre-term labor. Even though I know I'm not at risk, I still feel like I can't completely discount the possibility. I think it's because this pregnancy has been super great so far (with Aidan I had a lot of spotting, BP issues, and diabetes) so I feel like sometimes I expect the other shoe to drop. Really the only experience I have with BH is toward the very end of my pregnancy with Aidan, so to have them so frequently now and for them to be painful really freaks me out.

I haven't tried that, I wonder if that might work. Thanks for the idea!

I have been having contractions non stop for the last few weeks so my provider put me on magnessium pills 2 times a day! It helps relaxes ur uterus and prevents contractions, love it! I am suppose to be on them till 35 weeks along! Maybe you can ask your dr about it.... its over the counter pills!
