I've been feeling really crampy (like period cramps) the past few days and when I woke up this morning there was bright red blood when I peed. Every time I wiped there was a bit, so I called L&D and they told me to just rest as much as possible for the rest of the weekend.

It seems to have faded out a bit and I haven't had any for an hour now. I'm supposed to call if it gets worse or if I get crampy again. Otherwise, my NP will call me Monday to check and have me come in if I still have it.

They said most likely it's from the cramping, but I have no idea what caused that since I've been drinking tons of water, etc. I was also going #2 a lot the past few days (like up to 8 times! in a day!), so they said I might just have a stomach virus or something. Since baby is still super active, they weren't that concerned about things, especially since it wasn't a lot of blood. I've never spotted with any of my pregnancies, so it's new to me though!

I know that's scary!! You don't have placenta previa of any degree do you? I know that can cause some red bleeding out of nowhere.

Relax and keep drinking that water! I am sure you'll be fine, but I know it's never a good feeling to see blood while pregnant!

At my big u/s there were no signs of previa at all. I'm thinking maybe going to the bathroom so much with loose stools (sorry TMI) just caused more dehydration even though I was drinking so much water still, so I cramped and bled a bit. At least I hope that is it.

I hope it isn't anything. Hopefully the cramping and bleeding stays away.

Are you sure the blood is from your vagina, or could it be in your urine? This happened to me with my last pregnancy (cramps and all), and I was actually PEEING blood. Turned out it was a UTI gone into my kidney. I went to the ER myself, because at the time I DID have placenta previa and they were concerned it was the placenta bleeding. But it was just my kidney and bladder. Antibiotics fixed me right up. Hope you get it figured out!

Yeah I was wondering about a UTI or a kidney infection.

i'm pretty sure it was from the vagina. it continued bleeding later when I was just lying down. it seems to have stopped now and baby is very active, so i think things are good! still going to rest this weekend just in case though.

Gah! Blood of any sort is always so scary! I am so glad he is moving all around for you though, that is so reassuring.

I'm glad the baby is very active. I'm so sorry about the blood. I'm hoping that it was caused by the stomach virus and that you don't have anymore bleeding.

I also had that lil blood for about 24 hours the other evening and into the next day with cramping. It freaked meout since like you I have never bled during my pregnencies except the loss. I hope this subsides for you and you feel better soon.
