I just signed up last night. Because I am going for a natural birth at the hospital birth center they will not let you birth there unless you take the birthing naturally classes. So I start classes in March.
I haven't signed up. We need to deceide if we are going to take them or not.
Stacey... does your hospital do just a tour? Our offers that for free.
The hospital I had Madison at I paid for but skipped the CB classes cause DH would not go with me and so i never got a tour of the hospital. When i went in for my induction they would say things "like we went over in your tour" and acted like I should know what was going on..lol
No, I never took a childbirth class. But I did a ton of reading while I was pregnant. I was adicted! I did over 24 hrs of pit naturally before the epi because I just wouldn't dialate. I felt like I really knew everything that was going on during my labor and the next steps that they wouuld suggest and procedures and medications. So all that reading really paid off. I spent most of my time on the ball leaning oon my bed with a hot pad on my lower back and sorta moaned thru the contractions. It was very instinctual. But understanding what was going on and knowing ahead of time what they would probably do and how really helped take the fear out of it. So I guess, if you aren't a crazy researcher like me, I can see the help of a good class.
I;m not doing them this time at the hospital. I do hypnobabies at home anyway, I do need to sign up for a new tour, because they have moved and remodeled since DS- actually they were in the middle of it when he was born!
I really want to take class but Im not sure if it's worth signing up because the only one we could attent runs april 5 to may 3rd and the chances are high we would miss at least the last one. I think I will sign up for it though so I know what to expect from the hospital and get the tour and everything.
