I'm not exaggerating. from my hair to my skin to my lips. I can't keep hydrated. All I drink is water & I drink it all day for the most part. I get dizzy, tired & nauseaus from it at times. I take my pre-natal pretty faithfully now that I am on my new one.

Any tips on other ways to keep up with my fluids?

Ugh, you poor thing. I have dry hair, skin and lips...but I thought it was just from it being winter.

the dryniess so bad, I had a split lip for like a month. My tongue is always dry and cakey. I literally drink water all day long & I just can't keep up. I am even noticing more BH's than I had with my last pregnancy.

I would be a little concerned about gestational diabetes with what you are describing. Definitely mention it to your doctor. And I hope you feel better because that does sound awful uncomfortable.

Isn't that associated with weight gain during pregnancy too? I haven't gained much if any yet.

Not necessarily. Of course I'm no doctor, I just know some people that had it were always thirsty and couldn't quench their thirst. They went on a GI diet and controlled it easily enough. Doesn't hurt to mention to your doc. We all have the GD test coming up anyhow.

What you describe also reminds me of when I was breastfeeding. So much water was going out in the milk I couldn't drink enough. I had to consume a lot of water! Maybe try eating more fruit too. That has a lot of water in it

it can be, but I've always heard its more of an issue of the baby gaining weight too fast. Excessive thirst can be a sign of early/developing diabetes though. You could def just ask about it. Maybe try drinking watered down gatorade or a couple of servings of pedialyte? Something with some extra nutrients in it?

PS. Your post title totally reminded me of the dream I had last night that I was bf baby girl

Maybe try adding pedalite or Gatorade in there, it will hydrate much more than water alone. I get super dry and thirsty at night, I guzzle like 5 cups a night, otherwise I can't sleep.

Thanks for the input! I will mention it to my dr. From what I just read, you girls could be onto something.

The only thing is, i don't feel thirsty...just dehydrated. If that make sense. Like all of the classic symptoms but no desire to drink. I just drink because I know I should.

I agree with adding Gatorade or Pedialite. I remember when I was breastfeeding I couldn't get enough to drink and I got really dried out but it hasn't been that bad while I've been pregnant.

Gatorade is good. I have that a couple times a week and it helps. Or maybe even fruit pops?

I have the dry skin and stuff but thats just winter with excema for me.
We put about 10 gallons in the air a day with humidifers to help keep my skin and DD's under control.

Mine is annoying, but not quite this bad. If i keep up with my water and throw a Gatorade or Vitamin water in every now and then, I can usually keep it at bay. I know that the dry hair and skin are patially from the Winter. I am BAD about drinking enough water...so I know after a few days of not drinking enough it gets really bad and I have pick up the habit of hydrating well again!

I always have dry hair/skin in the winter...mine seems a bit better than normal when I am pregnant...my big problem is that I get major allergy problems when I'm pregnant...oh well
