I think I read somewhere that you had a breast reduction. I did as well, 15 years ago..I had to have a complete nipple graph, so have been unable to nurse the girls with the scar tissue. I was talking with my cousin who is a lactation consultant and she thinks I may be able to try to nurse this time around since I've been engorged with the last couple pregnancies. TMI, but my nipples are definately much more sore this time. So, after all that, I was wondering if you had spoken to anyone about nursing since your reduction? How long ago was yours? Have you had a child since it? Would you be interested in nursing again if you could? Anyone else who has info please feel free to contribute, I REALLY want to try again, even if it's just part time..

I had mine done in 2005. Reduction/lift. They removed the nipple entirely as well and replaced. I've had Lilly since then. My boobs get huge anyway bc that's the first place I gain weight. Blame it on the gene pool lol. Nips get super sensitive too. But I never leaked or expressed milk like most.

Honestly, even if I could nurse... I wouldn't. It's a total turn off to me. Just feels "wrong" naturally for me bc it's always been a sexual thing. So putting my kid on it feels gross. People have totally slammed me for how I feel, but I can't control how I feel.. I just do. I have no prob with others choosing differently.

I've heard of girls who have had reductions actually be able to nurse though. I dunno if the scar tissue doesn't affect the milk gland or what. But if you're really wanting to, it wouldn't hurt to give it a shot. Worst thing that could happen is you can't right? I say go for it sorry I couldnt help ya more.

My cousin said that the more time that passes the better the chances for the mild ducts to reattach. I had mine in 1997, so it's been a while to say the least! Thanks for sharing. And I think everyone is entitled to their feelings...I'm a very strong nursing advocate, but it's hard work! Thanks again!
