So tonight we went out to Chilli's for dinner. I got the a salad with grilled chicken. Well, halfway through my meal I saw that the chicken was RAW in the middle. I had already eaten some of the outer parts of the chicken and mostly all the salad. I freaked out - got the waiter and he took it off the bill. I was so worried, I wanted to go force myself to throw up just in case I ate some raw chicken. I feel fine and Aubrey is kicking away so I'm guessing we are in the clear (it's been about 5 hours since I ate) but I'm still worried about her.... I'm so pissed at that dumb cook.... What if something happens to her? I'd be suing Chilli's so flipping fast they wouldn't know what hit them. Stupid idiot cook!!!!!!

Agh, I would be freaked and pissed too! It sounds like you are fine though. If it was cooked on the outside at least, then the salad shouldn't have been too contaminated. I would think if you wake up tomorrow feeling fine you are in the clear for sure. And I remember this happening to someone else in our ddc too. How can someone call themselves a cook and not cook chicken through? That cook should be fired!

If it was going to affect you i think you would already have the symptoms. So you should be fine, but maybe call the doctor in the morning. :dothugs:

That made me cringe! I have NO idea about all that stuff. Shelley seems to, so maybe she will be on soon to advise you!

Yuck!! I would have been upset too. I bet you're fine, but I understand why you'd be mad. Makes me not to want to eat at Chili's

I thought this happened to someone else in our DDC, but I didn't know if it was in this DDC or my PR. Who was that??

I should of caused more of a scene now that I think about it because I was way too nice to them... sigh, I'm just praying that Aubrey is okay. I don't want anything to happen to my baby girl!!! My MIL was with us and said that I would of noticed if I ate a piece of raw chicken b/c it would of been very chewy. Luckily I'm not a huge meat person so I only ate like two or three pieces then when I went to eat more I saw it was raw. So, luckily it never touched my mouth or anything.

Oh a happy side note - We saw "The Vow" after dinner... it was such a sweet movie. I cried a few times, lol. I recommend it, for sure!

Yuck! I would be pissed! I think Justine had it happen to her early in the pregnancy and she did get food poisoning that night from it.

Usually, you'll have food poisoning symptoms within 12 hours after eating contaminated raw meat. Most likely you'll be fine since you didn't notice a chewy piece and it was at least cooked on the outside. If you do get sick (diarrhea and/or vomiting), then just try to stay hydrated as much as possible. The main concern for the baby would be if you got too dehydrated, then that could cause contractions, etc.

I think it did happen to someone else in this PR. I'm sure you're ok! That happened to me once when I was pregnant with DD. The waiter laughed about it...laughed. then asked if I wanted her to bring it back. Seriously.

I hope your doing okay this morning. We ate at Chili's a few weeks ago and my husband's got food poisoning so maybe that's what you are remembering. We ate around 6:00 and by 10:00 he was puking his guts up and was sick for 2 days. I think if it was going to hurt you, you would have already gotten sick.

Yes now I am definitely never eating at Chili's again.

I think you are fine too, I agree you would already be showing symptoms if you got something that was contaminated.

A few weeks ago I found a penny in my salad, but I hadn't started eating it yet. I was more worried about if that fell out of someones pocket what else was in there!

A penny!

I think you would know if you ate raw chicken. Maybe what you ate was cooked. I'm very picky about my meat, I wont even eat beef/steak unless it's almost burned.

Yikes!! that is a really big deal for kitchens and cooks... undercooked food is a huge liability and just a big BIG no-no. I hope you didn't get sick. I'm glad baby is kicking away in there.

Yuck! I'm sorry that happened to you, but it sounds like you're probably in the clear at least. I would have been livid! I hate Chili's anyway but now I'm definitely never eating there! And a freakin penny?!? Holy crap, what is wrong with these cooks?!?
