Hey girls, I'm flying to see my sister in NY tonight and I'll be there until Monday night. I'm wanting to take my fetal doppler with me, but I'm not checking a bag. Has anyone ever taken theirs on a plane before? I don't see any reason why it would be a big deal but I really don't want any hassles at security. I wouldn't be taking any gel, my sister has some aloe at her house I can use, but just the machine.

Maybe call the airline.
I brought mine to chicago, but it was on a checked bag.

people have to take blood sugar meters and stuff right so it should be fine but I don't know. I would call ahead because if they dont let you have it then you could lose it forever you know.

I called the airline and they didn't have a clue. Took me forever for them to even understand what I was talking about! I guess if they don't want me to take it through I could just check my bag instead.

yeah it should probably be fine i mean its just a device. like a laptop or a cell phone. take the battereis out and pack them separate just so it doesnt end up turned on the whole time or something.

I don't think it would be a problem. It will go through the xray thing and if they are concerned they will just ask you to remove it so they can see what it is and swab it with their little swab thingies. It wouldn't hurt to call the airport just to ask though!
