So I been having frequent braxton hicks contractions this weekend.... all I did was rest. Well last night I was getting menstural like cramping also and I had a big glob of stuff came out (possible mucus plug).

I went to my dr this morning to get checked. They checked for uti which was negative and possible bacterial infection (dont have results for that yet). She checked my cervix... she said the outter was soft and dialated some but the inner is still closed. The last time she checked bc of contractions it was both closed. So its a wait and see thing. She told me if my cramping/contractions get worst then go in and still keep the appt for Thurs and she will check me again.

So has anyone else been going through this? What do u think it means with ur outter cervix is soft and dialated some....

(((Hugs))) what a crappy day/weekend!! I haven't been through that, but I think it sounds like some very early labor symptoms...as long as the inner is closed and not changing though, it sounds like everything is more or less ok. Def try and take it easy and keep resting, make sure you are drinking water like crazy. I hope Thursday's appt goes much better!!

I hope L&D can monitor you and they may give you meds to stop the contractions.

Many women walk around for weeks to months dilated, it just depends. You can always ask them to measure your cervix and see if it's shortening, etc as well.

I agree, dialating doesnt always indicate a problem. Some women go from 0-10 in a matter of hours, others take weeks.
My friend walked around from 36 weeks on at 5Cm, they thought for sure she would have her baby early, and he was a scheduled csection on her due date. So it never means having a baby early is eminent. It can happen, but it is not always the case.

Usually i was always dialated at my first pelvic exams at 35/36 weeks, and i slowly progressed until my Due dates where i was then induced and schedule for csections. My mom on the other hand went from 0-10 the day she would have all her kids, so you just never know how its going to play out.
