Last night I developed a pretty nasty cough...boo. It seems to be geting a little more productive now so I just hope it stays just a cough and doesn't turn into anything worse. I was going to go to the doctor to just nip in the bud right away but I decided to wait it another day and see how it goes. I don't have any cough medicine on hand ( and DH had to take my car to work so I am stuck) but I have mucinex DM and I am wondering if thats safe to take..I guess I could call the doctor to find out..Anyway, there is stuff going around so stay healthy ladies!

Good luck! Don't let the cough get too bad -- I had a bad cough a couple of weeks ago and I wound up coughing so often and hard that I actually cracked a rib. I still can't sleep on my sides and it's been 3 weeks. So take the cough meds early!!

FWIW, I took Robitussin DM for a few days and it did absolutely nothing for the cough -- I finally called the doc and got Robitussin with codeine.

I'm not sure about mucinex or not. I would probably just call the dr and see what they recommend. I hope you feel better soon.

Feel better soon! According to this: Chart: Over-the-counter medications during pregnancy | BabyCenter, Mucinex is safe, but I'd probably double check with your doctor.

I just got over a 2 week chest cold. It was brutal so yeah treat that cough if you can. My OB recommended Mucinex- she thought it worked the best.
