Ugh, i totally failed my 1 hour. I have to be honest, im a bit frustrated, but i kind of saw it coming. I felt horrendous during the 1 hour ( lightheaded, nauseous, ect) and i just had that feeling that things werent normal. Part of me thinks it was becuase it was a later test, at 11am, and i hadnt eaten since the night before. But who knows.

So now i have the crappy task of trying to find someone to watch my kids, this week is so jacked up, DH is going out of town for work, our other babysitter cant except on friday, which friday is out becuase i alreayd have a dr appt for the baby, and my oldest has preschool, and i just dont have time to do it all. I feel like im a mad women trying to fit this darn test in.

so i made it for tuesday, my OB office wanted me in before friday ( when my appt is) but honestly i just cant make it happen. So they will just have to deal.

So my question is. How many failed your 1 hour and passed your 3 hour? I failed the 1 hour with DD, and passed my 3 hour. I always blamed my failing on the mcdonalds i at that morning with the OJ i had with it. Since i ended up passing the 3 hour after fasting. I passed the 1 hour with ds, and i assumed since i fasted this time that i would have no issues.

Also for your 1 hour did you have 1 blood draw, or 2? i always thought they took your blood at the start and end, so they had something to compare to, but they only took my blood after the hour was up. Seemed kind of odd to me, but i dont really remember.
What were your numbers if you failed the 1 hour? Where should they be?

Sorry this turned out to be a lot longer than i planned, lol

I FAILED my 1 hour test. They wanted the number 130 or lower and I tested at 132. I was pretty upset. 4th pregnancy and hadn't failed before.

Took the 3 hour test and PASSED! I don't know what my numbers were. When the nurse called to tell me the results it was noisy where I was and she said dr would go over it at my next appointment.

Couldn't eat or drink after midnight. Then I had to be at the hospital @ 7 am. They took a vial of blood and checked the number to make sure it wasn't too high. They didn't want me having high blood sugar and then give me the drink. Was fine. Drank the yummy cocktail. They tested 1 hour later. And then again after another hour. So, I had three blood draws. It was only a 2 hour test.

Good Luck! Keep your chin up! It'll be good!

With DS I failed my one hour but passed the 3 hour test. With this baby I passed the 1 hour. They only took blood once for my 1 hour test which was one hour after I drank the orange drink.

I hope you pass the 3 hour. Sorry things are so crazy for you this week.

Thanks ladies. i called my OB to talk about the timing of my test, and to ask for my results.

My results were 132, apparently they need to be 130 or under. I dont understand how everything i read online says 140, but mine is going by 130. Also, i distinctly remember my drink was 75 grams of glucola, beuase they had orange 75 and lemon lime 100, i stared at them for the hour i was in the room, lol. But when i read online it says you drink 50 grams of glucola? Wouldnt that affect the outcome?

im sure the lab adjusts all the results for the timing and the type of drink they use, there are many variations on the GD test. I hope you pass the 3 hour sorry you have to do it.

I failed my one hour and just heard today that I passed the 3 hour with flying colors!! I got a 142 on my one hour and they considerd anything under 140 passing, so I missed it by only a few points. I ended up fasting for the one hour even though you don't need to because I just wasn't hungry. They only took my blood once during the one hour at the end of the hour and I drank 50g of the glucola.

My midwife said it's actually more common the fail the one hour and then pass the 3 hour than to fail both. Fingers crossed that it works out that way for you too!!

I FAILED my 1hr test too But the nurse thought because my number was above the normal range, she didn't think I need to do the 3hr test, therefore diagnosed me with gestational diabetes!!! Until this day, I still think I should have done atleast the 3hr test, because i'm going through all this extra stuff now, and I honestly don't think I have GD!!

I had to be referred to a GD specialist after that, and had to be put on a meal plan. My sugar levels have been normal 2hr after meals. Except sugar level is a little above normal first thing in the mornings, so they put me on insulin at bedtimes.

I wish I had been able to do the 3hr test! OB even told me at my last appt that my GD is a mild case only, and to just do my best with the diet thing. I have cut out all sugars since then. But i do still EAT when i do go out for dinners or have dinner parties at friend's houses. And today I had ketchup chips!! I had to give in to my craving for it, or else i would have gone crazy

I got 147 on the one hour test - 130 was passing, so I failed. Just one blood test an hour after I drank the juice.

For the three hour, I had 4 blood draws. One fasting (12 hours I was told) and one every hour for three hours... I passed the test.

I failed the 1 hr too. I took the 3hr yesterday morning that stunk. They didn't check me in for an hour either so I was there from 8:30 to 12:30. All morning long. And got pricked 4 times. I hope I passed! I hope you pass too!

I got 152 on the 1 hr, and I fasted for 12hrs which I wasn't even required to for that one. So I'm worried I failed my 3hr as well.
