Ok so I technically passed the 1 hour with 137. I had to be under 140 according to the clinic. My doctor used her own numbers and asked me to do the 3 hour. Fine whatever, dragged my feet a little as I hate needles but did it yesterday. She calls me to do to say I passed. I passed the 3 first sets of numbers but my last number was slightly over. So all in all I failed the last number but passed the test. Yeah right!? Nope she wants me to follow a low carb diet. Huh? So confused. If I technically passed both then why the diet? Thanks for listening to my rant. I really needed to get that out.
If anyone has any yummy low carb recipes I would love if you could share them.
I'm on the GD diet I tell ya, it is the hardest thing to be on while pregnant!!!! No sugars, and measured carbohydrates!! Eat 3 meals a day, and 3 snacks a day. I hate eating like a bird
I don't have any low carb meal ideas for you, cuz i've just been given a list of foods that i can eat (all food groups), and the measurements for each. So I just choose from the list when making meals and snacks. I got it from the dietician. So if you can, ask if you can be referred to a dietician.
I have been a diabectic for all 3 of my pregnancies... sometimes its not fun but you will learn how to do it all! You can still have sweets but this is what I do:
lets use a slice of cake
I look at the nutrient facts and if it says that 1 slice is 30 grams of carbs then I would half that slice and that would give me 15 grams.... I can statisified my cravings and it wont harm my blood sugar!

I am sorry you have to go thru this. However, they want you to follow for various reasons. Right now, you are considered borderline. Instead of bringing you back in AGAIN, they are treating you for it cautiously.

Thanks Ladies. I guess I am just hormonal. I know its for the best but its so gosh darn hard with all these cravings. I keep telling myself its not forever. With DD being type 1 we have lots of low carb snacks in the house so that helps. I also know about carb counting and such. She told me that she will take care of me since she knows what to do.
