I called the doctor because I took my 3hr last Tuesday and hadn't heard back. Apaprently I TOTALLY flunked the test. So they are bringing me in tomorrow. I'm sort of mad because they didn't call me to let me know and I'm already 31 weeks! But I guess a few weeks of a good diet will help more? They said I'll have to monitor my blood sugar levels etc.

I guess no more sweets..no more carbs...no more anything I like ahh! But I also don't want to end up with a 10lb baby and a c-section either!

Ugh! I'm sorry. And I'd be ticked that they didn't call.... they need to be on top of "not normal" test results or else what's the point of taking the test??

That's what I figured! I had failed my 1hr test a few weeks ago and had to ASK them if they were going to send me for a 3hr. So I went and did that and then they hadn't even called to report that I failed the 3hr which I took LAST TUESDAY! I didn't have another appt until March 5th. I guess they would have just waited but that's crazy this far along, because I need to watch my diet NOW!

I just did the 3 hr test on Saturday- 2 weeks after I did the 1hr test. I had assumed that I had passed the 1hr test because the OB's office said they would only call if I failed... and they didn't call until last Thursday, nearly 2 weeks after the test. Like you, I've gotta wonder how seriously the doctor's office is taking it if they don't call to give test results promptly.

Not to worry. You will have to watch what you eat more closely but it doesn't mean no more sugar or carbs. In fact, they told me I NEED carbs for energy so I am still supposed to eat them. I get 45 carbs for each meal, 15 carbs for morning and midday snacks (one between breakfast and lunch, and one between lunch and dinner), and 30 carbs for a snack before bed. I will admit, I am not doing the snacks like I should. I eat them if I am hungry but I have NEVER done the one between breakfast and lunch. I eat breakfast at 8:30 and lunch about 11. I don't need a snack for that short period of time.

Anyway, you may be overwhelmed at first (I WAS) because it was a lot of info. To top it off, the lady that tried to explain it to me the first time was a ding bat and I was so freaking confused. I left there crying because I just didn't understand and I didn't want to hurt my baby. I hope you have a better experiance because the diet really hasn't been bad for me once I figured it out. Others may have a different experiance but I still find I can eat what I want, I just watch the portions and try not to eat to many carby things in one sitting.
