What is the rule for laying on your stomach, if you arent putting weight on it is it okay? Is it okay as long as it doesnt hurt? Or is it just not okay at all?

Im a total stomach sleeper but I cant actually lay on my stomach anymore cause it hurts, but Im wondering if I can like pile up pillows and make a hole is that okay? I probably wouldn't stay that way all night, but maybe just to take a nap or take some weight off my back for a while? I just need to lay face down!

I don't know what the actual rule is. I tend to lay with one foot out to the side; so I'm more on my tummy than on my side, but it lets some of the pressure off my tummy. I kind of want to say that the general rule is that its not recommended but if you aren't in major discomfort its ok..but I just don't remember.

No clue...I can't lay completely on my stomach, I use a pillow and my lag to support me. But I'd say as long as you're not in pain, you're OK

i'm struggling with staying on my left side and not sleeping on my back and i often wake up on my tummy as well. i'm just naughty all around, so i'm not much help. i would think baby would kick up a fuss if it was too bothersome. i've gotten that a fair bit.

My doctor told me that getting sleep/rest is really the most important, and it doesn't really matter *that* much what position you're in (i.e. he told me that if I'm spending all night trying to stay off my back and therefore not sleeping, that's worse than just being on my back). He said the body will let you know if something needs to be adjusted.

Yep. Baby is actually quite well sheltered by your muscles and amniotic fluid so as long as you are comfortable and baby is not kicking up a fuss you should be ok.

You won't squish the baby I've always been told stomach sleeping is fine *if* you are comfortable, but most women are uncomfortable lying on their belly for too long. It doesn't restrict blood flow or oxygen like back sleeping can (and with back sleeping, you typically wake up before there is an issue anyway).

I am a 100% stomach sleeper, before baby. I noticed if i can't sleep and i can get comfortable i can fall asleep on my stomach. I don't end up sleeping all night like that because i will wake up to use the restroom and then end up falling asleep laying on my side.

i definitely cant just lay on it, and I even get sore when Im half on it, but I might try a pillow nest tonight and see if I can sleep that way, I just need some solid sleep!

Yes, this is me too. I'm still mostly on my belly but tilted a bit. Baby is fine, it's just your comfort that really matters.

Last time as my belly got bigger I started using a pillow - I got a king size pillow (it's longer than a regular one) and using it like a body pillow... I'd hug it and put one leg over it. So I was mostly on my side but it felt more like I was on my belly, since I had something pressing all against my front! I just can't sleep any other way.

The pillow nest sounds fine to me as long as your not putting alot of pressure on your belly should be fine.
