Not this time around. I am trying to do my hypnobabies at home, but it is so hard to find 30 minutes that I can get away from everybody and listen to my tapes- without it being so late I fall asleep. Thankfully, years of meditation before this give me a little edge on being able to force relaxation.
I want to take a refresher Lamaze class, but they are hard to find around here! The hospital we will be birthing at, has dropped the class scheduled for April. Just my luck! So we are signed up for the May 12th one. Talk about cutting it close!
Tried the hospital that is closer and they no longer offer Lamaze classes. Reason they don't do them anymore is because they cost $50 and people don't want to pay that. Also more and more women are getting epidurals, so they don't mess with the classes.
We signed up for a bunch of classes since we're first-time parents and thankfully got two in before I went on bed rest. So we went to a Childbirth Basics class, which was really helpful, and a Breastfeeding Seminar class.
I'm really bummed that I had to cancel the Newborn Care 101 class we'd already signed up for but I may re-sign hubby up to go on his own. Neither of us have the slightest idea what to do with a baby.
We're still signed up for Comfort Techniques for Labor in April as I'm hoping I'll be off of bed rest by that point.
I will not but did take several when I was pregnant with my first. They were very helpful. Well lamaze didn't help at all. It flew out the window once I was in labor. But it was worth it for the one thing I got out of it which was to ask if I could "labor down". I did and by the time I did start pushing I only pushed a couple of times.
Thanks PrincessMom08 for my wonderful siggy!
