Ok, so it has been a terrible week in our house. Our car bit the big one. The good news is we bought a van, the bad news is my husband got in an accident that totaled his parents car on the day we bought the van. Then he got hurt at work and tore the meniscus in his knee, possibly may need surgery. So starting on Friday night I began to have alot of BH contrax, fairly regular. I wasn't too worried, drowned myself in water, and went to bed. Saturday I was crampy all day. Sunday night I had the BH regular again. So I told my MW at my appt. in the morning about my weekend and she put me on the monitor. Contrax were coming every three minutes. Not super painful, but there and regular. So she tells me to head on up to L&D. The plan was to drown me in fluids, do a FFN test (to see if I would go into labor in the next two weeks), an U/S to check on the baby and fluid, and last but not least my three hour glucose test which I would have done at the office. I get there, get on the monitor, contrax are the same, cervix was thick and closed still so that was great. The FFN came back negative, so while the contrax were very regular, they weren't doing anything and my MW wasn't worried. Then I went down for the U/S, as soon as the tech started scanning I could tell there was a problem. In the baby's belly was a huge dark circle! And I mean HUGE! Her bladder was underneath it and it looked so small by comparison. I asked the tech what it was and she gave me the whole song and dance about not being able to tell me anything. Then she left and returned with the radiologist. He was very nice, and scanned me himself. Basically Abigail had a 4CM cyst in her abdomen and they don't know where the origin is. The two main possibilities are ovarian, from my hormones, or mesenteric (sp?) attached to her bowel. Both could resolve after her birth or both could need surgery. I am just beside myself! They really didn't have any good information for me because they cannot distinguish the origin. I have to go see a perinatal doctor for a level two U/S and a pediatric surgeon! Really upset! So please pray ladies that it is nothing serious and she will not need surgery. She would be moved to a different hospital after her birth! I don't want any of that! So after speaking with my MW, we decided the BH are just alot of irritability and I am not going into labor, and I am home on modified BR waiting to see the specialist. Still crampy today, but taking it easy. And just to add insult to injury, I do have gestational diabetes. So I guess they will have me testing blood sugar and special diet too. Seems silly as I have gained seven pounds total, but I will do whatever they want so I have a healthy baby. The good news I heard yesterday was that she is weighing 4lbs. 4 oz. and measured 32 weeks. I am glad the morning sickness is not affecting her growth. So that's all for now, I will update when I know more. Thanks for reading.
sorry you are going through that, Ill be praying that everything is fine. Im no doctor but it sounds like a good chance it could be a hormonal thing since your hormones seem to have been very high this whole time and with her being a girl its like a quadruepal whammy for you both. Sounds like you are doing a good job of just taking it easy and trying not to worry.
This has not been a good week for our DDC! Praying for you and baby! Please keep us posted!
