My nipples hurt..my left much more than my right. So I'm taking a break from that one today and just pumping that side so my husband can bottle feed him..if he'll take it. Does that sound like the right thing to do?
Yeah, as long as you are still removing the milk by pumping then that should be just fine. For nipple pain I use creams (medela lanolin or motherlove nipple cream) and cool packs. And tylenol. Poor nips.
Well good, because I pumped and got 3 oz. So hopefully my husband can feed him tonite with it. I'll pump again in a few hours. I think his latch on my left is different. He needs to open his mouth wider and I've tried to help him but it's not working.
It's pretty normal to have a different latch on one side, to feel more comfortable on one side than the other. Even babies can have preferences. But usually it'll get easier as they get a bit bigger and better at nursing.
