I was getting ready to give Jacob his bath at 7 last night when I noticed that he felt warm but he always feels a little warm so I didn't think much of it but I went ahead and took his temp anyway. I did it rectally and it was 100.4 so I instantly freaked out and called his ped who told me I should go ahead and take him to the hospital and see what was going on. Of course DH was gone with my van that had Jacob's car seat in it. So I had to wait 30 excrutiating minutes before DH could get home and we could go to the hospital. By the time we got to the hospital Jacob's temp was down to 100.0 so that made me fell a little better. They then sent us to a room to get checked by a dr. The dr checked him then had the nurse get a urine sample which was terrible. They had to use a catheter which he did not like at all. Then they took blood from a vein in Jacob's arm and some more blood from his heal.
Then they took his temp again and it was down to 98.8. Then after what seemed like forever the dr finally came back in and said that Jacob's urine sample was fine and his blood work didn't show any problems so he thought it was most likely a viral infection. They finally sent us home at 1:30. We were exhausted and we had Jackson, my 2 year old with us, so that was another story in and of itself..lol. He didn't much enjoy being at the hospital for all that time.
This morning Jacob's temp was 98.0 so I am praying that whatever was wrong is now gone. He has his 2 month check up tomorrow so I'll be able to talk to his dr about it more. But for now we are just thankful that he seems to be fine. I'll let you know what the dr says tomorrow. Thoughts and prayers are welcome!!
Thank you *Kiliki* for my beautiful siggy
