How are everyone's little ones doing regarding sitting or crawling? Brayden is a lazy spoiled baby lol he can sit up from laying on his back but then flops over...he has no balance whatsoever. He wants to be held a lot and he is not yet crawling or even attempting to crawl. He usually cries the entire time we do floor time each and every time. He is now 8 mos old and I'm just wondering if anyone else's lo is not sitting unassisted yet or crawling. I feel like he is behind although his ped says not to worry. Tanks girls!

Brayden's double ear infection might be doing a number on his balance! I wonder if he'll sit up better once it's cleared up?

Luke is sitting but is not crawling. However, he is definitely attempting! He sits up, pulls up, rocks on hands and knees, gets onto his hands/feet, transitions into sitting from crawling (and vice versa) He scoots around and pushes backwards. He is actually a very mobile baby....for someone who isn't going foward! haha. His balence isn't good enough to cruise or stand alone though.

I just googled it, and the FIRST thing that popped up was ear infections being the cause of not sitting well. So maybe thats something you could look into?

As long as your pedi isn't concerned then I would imagine he's fine. But if he still is not sitting well by 9 months, then maybe seeing a physical therapist wouldn't be a bad idea? I can almost guarentee that he is just a late bloomer, but it never hurts to just check. It would make you feel a million times better too i'm sure!

...........Maybe he's just a "chill" baby. He was born on 4/20.....hehehe

Archer has been sitting and crawling for months. Recently he started pulling himself to standing all day and cruising. He sometimes lets go and balances for a few seconds.

Cole is sitting well and just started crawling. He army crawled for a long time first. He pulls up sometimes and is getting better at balancing.

If your pedi isn't worried I wouldn't be Cole's sitting improved literally overnight it was crazy.

Liam is on the move but like kelleye said it happened practically overnight so you never know, if you really feel like something is wrong you should listen to your instincts and push the issue but there is a wide range of age for these developmental milestones so if you arent really worried dont be, but if you are then you should find someone to listen to you.

Hadley can sit and maneuver that way. She doesn't crawl and doesn't even attempt it. Not concerned at all. She's bright and aware of everything. It's all good.

Sofia can sit but has no interest in crawling yet. She can roll from back to belly, but not belly to back. She is very good with her sitting and balancing when reaching. She will get there....I am enjoying the non-mobile baby as long as I can.

Nick has been sitting on his own for a while now but like other said, it was an instant switch. It was like a lightbulb went on ... one minute he needed help to balance while sitting and the next he was on his own.

He tries to crawl but just get frustrated and gives up. He tries really hard to walk while we hold him up though. He may just skip crawling altogether and walk instead. My mother was saying that my brother did that ... she was starting to worry that he wasn't crawling and then one day he started walking instead.

one of my sisters learned to walk before crawling. the only reason she learned to crawl was to get to something to pull up on. because she couldn't stand up on her own yet.

Allison walked for over a month before she crawled JR is a cruising pro, the only time he likes to sit is in his high chair for meals!

There is such a wide range for all these milestones that if the pedi isn't worried I wouldn't stress. Is he very verbal? Often babies will be ahead in one area and a bit slower on the other.

He is very verbal in that he says ababaaba dadada mamamama over and over and all the time. He is a very alert interactive baby so I'm not really worried just wondering where the other babies are at.

Jax is all over the place. Crawling, pulling up, cruising and trying to brave it now and again and balance and take a step. However...he is pretty silent. Not much of a talker.

Cody is all over the place. He loves to chase the dogs every where. I blame the dogs for getting him to crawl. He pulls up on everything. He lets goes and tries to take a step then gets mad when he falls.

Jacob is not crawling yet. He drags himself all over the house since we have hardwood floors it is easy for him to do that. he will try to push himself up on his hands and knees but just isn't quite strong enough to crawl yet. He is sitting up pretty good. Sometimes he will lose his balance though and topple over.

Luke is a talker too! He is VERY VERY social.

He is constantly talking, laughing and babbling. He just smiles at everyone. He is the life of the party, lol.

Maybe more social babies are less active, and more active babies are less social? Who knows!

I talked to my pediatrician and he said we need to be focusing on Luke's language, talking to him, teaching him words, labeling, reading him books, etc. etc.
