So as I am nearing the 2nd trimester, I was looking up how much weight I am supposed to be gaining. I started the pregnancy like 15 pounds heavier than my normal healthy weight. I was off my antidepresant medication for the past year, and when I have some anxiety and depression issues I tend to binge eat/eat for comfort. It caused me to gain a lot of weight for my frame this year. I am not feeling my healthiest or most comfortable, and was upset with myself for starting a pregnancy so unhealthy. But, not being able to eat large meals, morning sickness and trying to eat a little healthier kept me from gaining any weight so far in the first trimester. I think I lost 2 pounds. So everything I am reading is saying I should gain about a pound a week from here on out. Some say 1-2 some say .5-1. I consider myself to be overweight for my height right now, so I want to keep it on the lower end of the 25-35 pounds. I am hoping between 20-25. I gained 32 with Rielynn, but started at a much healthier weight.
So I am 4'10 and weigh 106 right now. I was 108 when I got pregnant. My normal, healthy body weight that I have always been at until this past year was about 92 pounds. (Remember I am VERY short, and very small boned, small frame)
So at a pound a week...that puts me around a 27 pound gain- so 133. I really need to try and eat healthy as my appetite grows! I tend to want all bad foods, carbs and sugars! luckily this pregnancy I am craving lots of fruit!
So has anyone else thought about their weight gain goals? Or are you just letting it happen as it happens? Have you gained any weight so far?
Oh & I am 13 weeks tomorrow...is that 2nd trimester or is 14 weeks? I am getting mixed answers!
I hear ya. I also consider myself overweight for my short frame. And to date I also have not gained a pound. Sometimes I'm actually a pound less. Even today when I weighed myself, i was a pound less than last Friday and yesterday was Thanksgiving! Who loses a pound after Thanksgiving?! LOL
I, too, worry about gaining too much and hope to start exercising once I'm not so tired all the time and I hope I can eat healthy. I was actually hoping to gain less than what you mentioned, like 20lbs tops, but maybe I'm off on the the normal weight gain amount.
I haven't gained any weight, and I usually never do until the end of the 4th month. Even then I will probably not gain more than 20lbs. I never went over 20 with my last two, I just don't gain a lot while pregnant. Dunno!
I'm only two inches taller than you and I weight a lot more than that. lol I think that you have an honest goal that you should have no problem reaching if you eat right.
I want to start working out too, I ordered a prenatal video, but I have been too sick lately to do it lol. Hopefully soon!

Bigget nutrition problem I am having is getting protein. I don't want any meat right now. belch. I need to pick up some more greek yogurts, and try to incorporate protein at every meal. I could literally eat just carbs 24/7.
I think I've gained 2 pounds. I wasn't eating nearly as healthy as I usually do and I wasn't working out as hard. I'm starting to eat healthy again and I'm sure that'll help. I gained 35lbs with my twins, so would like to keep it under that. I ate very well while prego with them, so I'm sure that if I stick with it I'll maintain a healthy weight gain.

I started off around 177 I think, which is what I weighed at my last appt before having DS#1. Oops. I've lost 5 or 6 lbs according to my scale. I weighed 174 at my OB appt this week. I'm hoping not to weigh more than 199 before the baby is born, so that gives me 25 lbs. I don't want to see 200!
I have gained 2 lbs so far. I was walking reguarly on my treadmill, but because of my loss history, my doctor quickly nixed that idea. I am not allowed to over do it until I am out of my first trimester, no DTD either with hubby. *sigh*
Anyway, I was on a lot of hormones due to fertility reasons before this pregnancy and I gained 30 lbs on them. I had only lost 10 of the pounds before I found out that I was pregnant. I am not happy about that. I am a lot taller though and a lot heavier. Lol. I am 5'7" and about 150 right now. I normally weight 130lbs. Now that I admitted that, you'll never get my true weight out of me again.
I'm 5'6, weighed 214 at the dr on Wednesday. For my frame (I have huge heavy bones, carry a lot of muscle- I'm a farm girl) 175 is my ideal weight. I haven't seen numbers below 200 in YEARS. I actually lost 5 pounds since getting pregnant as I can't tolerate the junk food and am loving fruit. For protein I eat soy nuts (it's a bean, high in protein and the BBQ ones are yummy) or sunflower seeds. Chicken works for me too. I also get my dairy through yogurt and cheese which also have protein. I'm hoping I don't gain a lot of weight, but was told no more than 20 pounds. It will come off though once the baby comes. Breast feeding, and back to training the minis.
