DH has a friend and they have fertility issues.
Tried several IVF and only the last one worked (she got pg several times but always lost the babies at 12 weeks the latest).

So, they are pg now. 24 weeks along.
At the 20 week anatomy scan everything looked fine. She had another u/s and they told her the organs in the middle section are at the same level they were 4 weeks ago, whereas the rest of the body kept growing as expected.

So does anyone know anything about this?
I have no idea what to tell them. Never heard of such a thing.

If you have heard or know anything, can you pls let me know?
I hate that something may be wrong they have been waiting for this baby for years and it´s their first.

Thanks girls

I have never heard of this. I'll pray for them though. Hopefully it is nothing.

I actually HAVE heard of this...a friend's nephew's stomach essentially grew way too slow. He needs some TLC (surgeries to get everything working together) now but he's a happy baby...his condition, while severe, didn't sound as severe as what your friend is experiencing if ALL of the baby's organs are far behind...I hope they catch up.

Well I know one thing...the doc really should have explained everything about what that meant to them, cuz I have no idea what that means!

They have my thoughts and prayers. I hope it's something they can correct after birth like Meg's friend.

I haven't heard anything about this, either. I did want to send some thoughts and prayers their way. Christen is right, though. A doctor should explain more about what that means and what their proactive plans are from here on out. Of course, when we had the brain delay news for Novie, they didn't fully explain things to us either.

Thanks so much for your answers

Just a few other comments:
- she´s on Heparin (they found that it was the reason she was losing all the other babies, although I don´t know the name of her condition exactly)
- they´re getting another u/s at the end of the week
- apparently (found out this today) 3 OB´s agreed on the diagnosis
- It´s the mid-section of the body that didn´t develop at the same rate in the last 4 weeks... she´s getting regular u/s because she´s high risk (maybe I said that already)

I don't know anything about it either, but I hope that things look better in the u/s this week! If I were her or her DH, I would call and ask if they can discuss what this means or at least when they go in for the next u/s. I was going to say are they sure, but if 3 docs gave them the same diagnosis, that sounds pretty definite.

I will keep them in my thoughts and pray that everything turns out ok or it is something easily fixed! KUP!
