The babies are doing great. They're pretty healthy and really just need to gain weight.
They did give me something for gas but it hasn't really helped. They keep telling me to walk around, which I have been doing, it's just not that easy.
Yeah again, even after vaginal birth I know to do that, cuz even if I'm not in pain, I know soon I'll be breastfeeding and that'll change that

I'm glad they're doing well, I hope you'll be walking around easier soon. Do they both have names yet?

Thanks Tressa and Paola! Everyone, including the nurses and doctors, is amazed that their only concern is their weight but they were 30 weeks so they had a decent amount of time to develop. The only thing that needs a little help is their lungs (increasing/maintaining pressure), which is understandable for their gestatiobal age, so they have the CPAP. Otherwise they're fine, they breathe on their own and baby a (now named Blake Riley) has begun feeding on my breast milk. They may start feeding Liam(middle name Rhys) tomorrow.

We've been very fortunate. They could have been a lot worse off health wise. The nurse yesterday said I could hold Blake if I wanted so I'm going to try to do that today so he can get skin to skin contact. I'm going also going to try and get a prescription for a breast pump so I can get one for "free" from my insurance company. I have one at home from my registry but if I can get another one to keep at the hospital that would be great.

oh my goodness. they are so small and cute.
Congrats. Sorry they came so early- that must have been frightening but thankfully they appear to be doing so well. Good luck with your twins and I look forward to hearing updates
I guess considering they were twins- they weren't that early....most are born around 36 weeks right? I was 4.5 llbs but totally healthy. Still had to incubate for a week or two.

Just checking in to see how you are doing and how your beautiful boys are. That is great that Blake is taking breastmilk and can be held. Liam will be there before you know it. They are super amazing boys and it sounds like they are doing great!

Hope all is well and your getting your strength back

Thanks Ladies! We'll take all the thoughts and prayers we can get. I'm sure it's the hormones but I feel like my emotions are all over the place when it comes to the boys. One minute I'm ok with everything, the next I'm really sad. Liam started taking breastmilk on Monday but he doesn't completely digest it every time so they're putting in a PICC line in him today to help him get more nutrition. I'll post more pics once they start gaining weight.

Coolusername, you're absolutely right about them not being that early since twins are considered term at 36 weeks but most people don't know that which makes me somewhat hesitant to tell people. I told my supervisor and couple co-workers at work but it took me a couple days to feel like I was comfortable with my supervisor telling others that the boys are here. I haven't told all my friends yet. I just told them that the shower was postponed b/c I was on bedrest. These are friends I see/talk to about 3x a years so I don't feel bad about not telling them yet.

I got discharged on Monday and have been feeling really sick and tired since then. I got the whooping cough vaccine before leaving the hospital which is probably a contributing factor. I have zero appetite and I've been having chills and sweat so much when I sleep that I have to get up and change my clothes during the night. Last night was so bad that DH got up in the middle of the night and went to the 2nd bedroom to sleep b/c I had wet the sheets (both top and bottom) so much that it had spread to his side. Because of this I haven't seen the boys since I was discharged I don't want to infect them with whatever's making me sick. I just call and get a daily update from the nurses and DH has been going every day. I hope I can go see them again by the weekend.
