I've never been in labor so I have no idea, but I have heard that labor tends to be felt much more in the back when it's the real deal...KUP on what the doc says...we've had some girls who had back pain and period cramping and sure enough they were contracting, so glad you called.
I know when my guy was sitting a certain way (I refer to it as his afternoon tea position - he would literally sit there, and I'd expect him to be reading the wall street journal - the ultrasound pics are hilarious) he was putting a ton of pressure on my SI joint which was very painful. But that was really specific, direct pain in one spot...
