Has anyone still not done their hospital tour? Are you planning on doing it?

We haven't done ours yet, and it's pretty important to do it with the language barrier and all. We called the patient liason yesterday and they should be calling us in the next week or so to let us know what day. I'll be full term in 2 weeks, so I figure it's time to get it over with! lol

I had Sophia 4 years ago in the hospital that I will have this baby at. Though I know a few things may have changed, I am not too worried about it. We will not be doing a tour this time around.

We had ours yesterday, it was short and sweet. But I'm so glad I got to go, the tour guide answered some questions that my doctor didn't at my last appointment. I picked out a pediatrician and they're right in the hospital!! And shes also the lady that does the car seat class which is the 3rd thursday of every month. She said if the class is booked this month she'd come meet me privately.

Ugh. I need to sign up for this. Thanks for the reminder, Rach! I think they only do it during the week and its in the evening. It'll be hard with Maggie, but I just need to schedule it and get it over with.

We had ours on the April 21st and I feel SO much better. It's a gorgeous, new hospital but I'm the type of person that needs to do a Google street view when I'm going some place new so I know EXACTLY where I'm going and what it looks like. It was great to see triage, and the delivery floor, then the new mommy ward. I know exactly what to do when I get there so definitely lowered my stress! Worth the 2 hours!

We haven't done our tour yet either. It's scheduled for May 29th, which is getting a bit late, but the other times didn't work for us. Hope baby doesn't arrive before then!

We have our birthing class and tour on the 12th. It's an ALL day thing from like 9-3:30! We have already been to L&D twice though so we've had a little preview.

Nope. On my very first visit at 7 weeks, my midwife took me around and showed me the center (it's small) But DH wanted to see the center so I think I'm going to take him back next week and let one of the nurses show him around so he knows where to go to get to the kitchen, bathrooms, family room, etc. If I labor at night, there is nobody there so he'll need to know his way around.

we did ours a few weeks ago. Our mommy and baby ward is being remodeled so I wanted to see were everything would be during the remodel. Also my kids were very concerned as to where I would be staying and where baby would be and where daddy would be so it was nice to go and bring them so that we could tell them that this is where we would be and this is where they will come see me and baby so that way they can feel more secure in what was going on. It helped them a lot they were a little scared but not any more.

We did ours and the childbirth class.....so glad we did. It was great to see the place, know where we would be and it gave me a better idea on what to bring with me to the hospital.

The only downside is that it made me get really anxious for her due date.

We didn't do a tour bc it's the same hospital I had both of the boys in and my sister had her baby in back in September.
I did take DS2 to a "siblings class" back in March. Even though he remembered the hospital from going to meet his new nephew back in the fall, it was nice for it to get to be a special experience for him to see where Mommy and his new baby will be.
