After a year of trying, we are finally pregnant with our first baby! Now that my betas have gotten high enough, I think I'm ready to start my journal I'm going to include a quick recap of our TTC journey, since I didn't have a TTC journal.

We started actively TTC in January 2011, after NTNP since our wedding two years before. Temping, OPKs, tracking CM, targeted BDing, the whole nine yards. We did take a few months off during that year, for sanity's sake. In January 23 this year, I finally went to see a doctor about our struggles. I was diagnosed with PCOS based on my blood tests. I didn't really believe this diagnosis, and was preparing many questions for my doctor. Luckily, I never got the chance to ask them!

Four days after my diagnosis, on 2/5/12, I tested at 10 DPO before heading to nephew's baptism, which was to be followed by the Super Bowl (and possible drinking). My only symptom was a lack of the sore boobs I usually have before AF shows. After faint lines on 2 ICs and a FRER, my husband was unconvinced. I really thought it was too early for a digi to work, but I couldn't help trying. Within a minute - 'pregnant'! I show it to DH, and he asks if that's the 'good one'. Well, it's the one that requires no interpretation, ya doofus! Finally, he was convinced and gave me a big hug. We didn't have much time to celebrate, as we had to get out the door for the baptism.

Sorry this entry got so long, it's mostly just to have for myself. Be back later with more!

2/5/12

We ended up telling my parents and siblings after the baptism. I had always planned to tell my mom and sister right away, as I'd want their support even if something bad did happen. I went ahead and let the others know too, as they would have noticed me not drinking during the Super Bowl anyway. I didn't do anything cool, just showed the pic of my digi. My dad totally didn't know what it was without his glasses on and had to be told

2/6/12

I have a standing order for a blood pregnancy test, so I went in on Monday morning. When my doc's office called that afternoon, I assumed it was about my results, but it was actually DH's SA results! She gave me those (which were surprisingly pretty good) and I was like, that's great, but...So she looked up my blood test and called me back right away to tell me my HCG was 30, which isn't high enough and that's what happens when women test so early, blah blah blah. I was told to get another test done on Wednesday.

2/8/12

Super nervous all day waiting for beta results. Finally get the call - 81! Good news, but still not high enough for them.

2/10/12

265! Woot woot! I don't have to do any more blood draws, and a nurse will be calling in the next 2 weeks to schedule my first appt. I can't possibly wait that long!

DH woke up today with a cold, which I really don't want to catch, since I can't take anything for it. Normally, I have a much better immune system than him and either don't catch his bugs, or get them way milder, but I know my immune system is suppressed in pregnancy. Oh well, not a whole lot I can do about it. Still no major symptoms to report - just sore boobs, some cramping, and slight queasiness here and there. HPT this morning was almost as dark as the control line, and temp is staying up around 98.2.

Caught DH's cold - stupid depressed immune system. Between the cold, sleeping like crap last night, and being queasy all day, today was not a good day. I seriously considered leaving work early, but I toughed it out. DH went out and got some of the good behind-the-counter cold medicine for himself, while I'm stuck with hot tea and vapor rub Hopefully my immune system has some of it's old self left and I can kick this quick.

I got sick at the beginning, too, but I did get over it pretty quickly. Hope you're feeling better soon.

Feeling much better today, though still pretty congested. Cramping seems a little more frequent, but no queasiness today. The big news of the day for us is non-TTC related. DH's company won a big contract that he thought they had bid way too high. A few more jobs like this will make me much more confident in our ability to make it with me being a SAHM, which I REALLY want to do.

Had a lazy day today. DH made a late breakfast (for baby) and we lounged around until our basketball game was on (we won). After the game, I started some laundry and DH did some cleaning in the pit that is our garage. Then more lounging. I've had quite a bit of cramping today, but none of it very bad. The fatigue may be hitting me, or it may just be that I haven't been sleeping through the night. Pretty much since I got my bfp, I wake up around 5 or 6 am every day and can't get back to sleep, costing me several hours of sleep. I didn't know insomnia was a pregnancy symptom...

I have heard that some women have issues with sleeping. I imagine, though, that in a couple of weeks, the exhaustion will really kick in. That's how it happened for me. I'm better now, but I still want to go to bed at 9pm!

DH and I were out shopping all day today. We finally got blinds ordered for our extra bedrooms that have had sheets in the windows since we moved in. We had dinner with DH's parents and told them about the pregnancy. They were very excited - his mom cried

The nurse called today, and I have my first appointments set up! I will see the nurse for info and an ultrasound on March 6th, and I will see the doctor for the first time on April 9th. I could have gotten in earlier, but we will be out of town the week before. That's okay though, we should be able to see more with it being a bit later. I can't freakin wait to see the heartbeat! Not much new in symptoms, a lot of cramping again today.

Started spotting this morning. Went in for an u/s, saw the gestational and yolk sacs, but not baby. I'm only 6 weeks by LMP, and a few days behind that by O date, so not seeing the baby isn't surprising. The bleeding and cramping has picked up some, though, and I'm pretty much expecting the worst at this point. I can't bring myself to go to work, so I'm just lying on the couch, getting more upset every time I have a cramp. This sucks.

That is really early to see the baby. I will say a prayer that everything will be ok. Will you be going back to the doctor soon

I really really really don't want to be making this post, but I am officially out. Bleeding and cramping increased all day yesterday and overnight. I talked to a nurse this morning who told me that the sac was only measuring 4w3d yesterday, so it's been over practically since it started. I've never been this sad, and I'm not sure how I'm ever going to get over this.
