14 weeks 5 days
I'm in the last week and a half of nursing school!!!!! I had a test today, I'll have a test thurs, then Monday, then a final Tuesday and all day presentations and then 2 finals on thursday and I'll be done with school!!!!!!!! I graduate May 19th and me and baby will proudly walk across that stage. I can't believe 2 1/2 years of this is almost over and I'll have my bsn working on my favorite floor... Well after i pass the boards and get my license but still almost done!!!
Kind of nauseous today and so exhausted. I can't wait until I get some energy back. I also have my next OB appointment next thurs (day of my last exams) week 16 and I'll probably find out the sex!! So thatll be my little present.

DH and an attending were checking my blood pressure and decided to do an U/S to see if they could tell the gender and they are 85-90% positive its a................................................. .................................................. .................................................. .................................................. .................................................. .................................................. .................................................. .................................................. ............................................. GIRL
I was in complete shock. I really though we were having a boy. But they were using a bedside U/S machine so they think they will get a better shot at my 16 week appt which is next thursday but she's been doing u/s for years now and said if it was her private patient she would feel comfortable saying it is a girl. I'm so excited but still in shock haha!! I'll get a definite conformation next week though.

Hahaha yea its good I can take a break from U/S now for a while that I know the gender (or at least until next thurs at my appt when I get that 100% confirmation). It was a complete shock I actually cried because I am so nervous about having a girl. I just want a better relationship than what me and my mom had growing up. We are better now but I just dont want it to take that long with me and my daughter. I guess I am just worried out of love. Because I already love her so much I want her to love me too. I know it sounds weird and it's hard to explain but I am getting excited the more I let that fear go.

I understand. My mom and I have had a rough relationship, too. I thought I hated her until I took it really hard when her cancer came back.
The thing about our situations is that we are not our mothers and we can learn from what didn't work in our relationships with her to make our relationships with our children work better.

Congrats, Lauren!
I agree with Robyn. I always look at my mom's failed marriages as unsuccessful models of relationships, and I do things so much differently with my husband. Same with her parenting style. There are so many things I will not do, thanks to learning from my mother's mistakes.

OMG, Lauren, if we were having a little girl, we were 95% certain we were going to name her Annalise! Beautiful name.

That is sooooo awesome!! Micah actualy came up witht he name because of this song he likes and I fell in love immediately! Now I have to think of a middle name but I have plenty of time haha! It was so cute she kept literally crossing her legs like she was being stubborn and wanting us to have to work for it just life her mommy!! And we definitely will need pacifiers because every time we see her she is sucking her thumb!!

I agree with Robyn and Adrienne... you will look at the stuff that your mom did that you didnt like and change to suit you! thats the great thing about being us! WE ARNT THEM!!! my mom died when I was 7 and I miss her everyday! it puts things in perspective sometimes... but I had a not so good relationship with my Dad and his wife... I was put into foster care because my Dad and his wife were abusive. so I get it! and you just have to remember YOU ARNT YOUR MOM!!! your going to be an amazing Mom!

Very cute, Lauren! If it's not a girl after all, you can always return for some cute boy stuff! I'm thinking you're pretty safe to start buying girly stuff though.

Yea that's what i was thinking! I returned a sweater I bought that i didnt want after i got home for some girl stuff so if it is a boy easy switch!! But I think youre right and we have a girl! And it was a way for me to be excited and not shocked anymore. I couldnt be happier. I cant stop thinking about her. Also do you like the middle name Grace? I think Annaleigh Grace is pretty.
