Okay, all caught up! And first want to say, happy full-term! And second want to say, my guess is Scooter is arriving in the next week or so. Just my guess, based on the contractions you describe and the fact that his head is already engaged. Sounds like me about a week before Jack's arrival (and remember that I was on bed rest). I know you have stuff to get done and want Scooter to hang out for a couple more weeks. I'm guessing sooner though.

That's awesome about the consulting work too.

37w0d - NST update

Just got home from my NST/AFI/BPP and all is well in Scooter land. Fluid measuring great, he is head down and pretty much engaged, and he's still a big boy. NST was great, though I could tell by looking at the print outs that my uterus is still a bit irritated. The doc said I was all good, though.

Got a great 3D shot of Scooter's face during my AFI today. Will try and upload tomorrow in the Scooter Scan's area. First time we've seen his face in 3D! I think he is ALL DH!

Happy Happy!

37w1d - Quick (for me) update
I am tired today. My hip hurts. No matter what sleep number setting I use, it's not getting better. I guess this is just one of those things I'll be dealing with for a while, but that's ok. I'm already crampy this morning, and I have a crap load to do today.

Last night, DH went to get Macaroni Grill takeout for dinner...a treat, but they were having a $10 off special for the BCS game, so we took advantage. We had a great meal of flatbread pizza, bibb & blue salad (our FAV), and some tapas things. We watched the game, er pummeling of ND, and he did some work on the couch, while I snoozed most of the game. I had sent him a link to the 3 newborn photogs I liked, and he chose one, so I need to book that today.

Today, I have to finish up my iPod for the hospital (98% done), order a few last minute baby things, get some packages ready to mail to our family and a few returns still from Christmas, then do some work on my strategy for my new job. I am also going to try and get up to the Harley store to get DH's birthday present, but that's a 35 min drive, and not sure if that will happen. However, if I don't do it today, not sure it will get done before baby (DH birthday is Jan 19).

I really want to get a mani/pedi before the holiday party on Thursday too...but with tomorrows schedule, I may not have time, and I certainly don't have time on Thu, so I might opt to try and fit at least the pedi in today.

Tomorrow, I have to bring my Jeep in to the dealer first thing in the morning for service - new tires, fix traction control, a recall, new windshield, oil change, and one more thing I can't recall at the moment. Should be done in a day, but want it all done before baby. Then tomorrow, we have our OB check, which will probably result in some sort of induction plan, if Scooter doesn't make his appearance on his own. I also want to volunteer in the morning, since it could be my last time doing so!

Lots to do, and I feel like time is running out. I know we are ready for Scooter, but I still feel like I have some scrambling to do. I'm sort of mentally planning for him to arrive next week, for some reason, so we will see.

For now, I am off to make some checkmarks on my list. Hope everyone has a good day!
x

PS. Oh, we took belly pics and nursery pics last night, so I will try and get some uploaded this afternoon.

37w1d - PM Update
I am rockin through my list of to-do's today. I still have a lot to do, but getting through it. I managed to make time for a mani/pedi too. More because I want my nails and tootsies to look nice for DH's holiday party on Thursday, but it was a good break from all my work today. I'm super wiped, and am sitting with my herbal heating pad thingy on my back now, and waiting for DH to get home so I can have a short bath before finishing up packing our hospital bags.

We also have it narrowed down to 2 newborn photographers...both are absolutely amazing (from their portfolios), and both have session fees that are comparable. I am still waiting on the print package rate sheet from the 2nd one though before we decide. The first one, though session fees are very reasonable, the print packages are MUCH higher than I anticipated, though not sure I have too much to compare to. Plus, I was interested in purchasing the digital files, but those are only available (from the first one, our first choice) as part of a HUGE package that runs in the $4000 range. Ya, don't think so.

I am also making great progress on my work for my new job. I got my new email and such all set up too, and some administrative stuff out of the way.

Question - any Boppy/Brest Friend/Nursing Pillow users bring theirs to the hospital?

I have heard various things as to whether it's necessary/good idea. DH's cousin and his wife just had their baby, and I noticed in their pictures, they have their Boppy there (cousin's sister was using it to support baby while holding him). While we can see the benefits, we are also wondering if it's just one more thing to lug to the hospital when regular pillows will do (we are most certainly bringing our own pillows).

Thoughts?

Bring the Boppy! I used it constantly. Totally worth the space. It makes it so much easier when you're learning the Breastfeeding positions especially if you end up with a c-section. Why does my iPhone always insist on capitalizing that word??

Prices for NB photographers are insane! I paid $4,000 for my wedding package that included an engagement shoot, guest book, wedding album, thank you cards, an 8x10, and the CD of images. NB photographers around here cost about what you're quoting for much less product. I was so lucky to find the photographer I did. She is amazing and our session plus CD of images was only $475. She does it as a side business so that's why she's so inexpensive.

Glad you're getting through your to-do list and took the time for the mani/pedi.

We brought the nursing pillow, and I definitely used it.

For me the pillows worked best in the hospital. That said, if you want to choose one over the other, I would suggest the boppy. With the mybreastfriend you are very limited on how you can position it so it was useless IMO.

I should clarify that it was useless in the trying to learn stage of breastfeeding.

Dang that price pacakge is ridiculous!

My chosen photographer lives 2000 miles away, and it wouldn't cost me near that much to get him here, get the shots, and own the rights! Of course, it would be his first niece or nephew.. but that'd be just a technicality. LOL.

I can't wait for scooter to get here!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Glad you were able to stop for a pedi/mani between all your errands. You definitley deserve it .

$4000 for newborn shots??? That is ridiculous!

I can't give you advice on the pillow but its something I think I will add to my list!

At first I nursed Jordan without the boppy in the hospital. Then one time I couldn't get him to latch and one of the nurses had me use the boppy and it worked WONDERS ! I used it from then on out, so I say definitely bring it with you!

37w2d - Whew, busy day.
First, thanks for the Boppy advice. It's in the car, with the rest of the hospital bags...all ready to go!

Super quick update tonight. It's been a super busy day that involved getting up early, taking my Jeep to the dealer for service, taking DH to work, going to work myself at the Park until 2, running home, showering, picking up DH at work, going to the OB, picking up my Jeep, grabbing a quick bite for dinner, FaceTime with my folks, quick bath, packing for our weekend getaway, and doing laundry.

Yep, that was my day.

Oh, and I'm being induced on Jan 22, unless Scooter arrives before hand, which my perinatologist is pretty darned sure he will

I am 2cm dilated, have a favorable cervix, and she is very pleased with how I look right now...she is really convinced I will go on my own, but doesn't want to wait much longer than the 39 week mark.

So................that's my news!

I will probably be MIA for the next few days as DH treats me to a relaxing staycation, but I will check/read from my phone occasionally. ForumRunner is acting up again, so I can read but not post right now. Hopefully, they will fix soon.

x

Yep, I think you'll go before your induction date too, but 1/22 is a pretty awesome date (it's my birthday). Enjoy your staycation.
