My Medela came with a manual pump, but yes, once you know what flange size you are I'd make sure to get an extra set.

Happy Viability!!!

I debated between the Ameda and Medela and decided to put the Medela on my registry. I'm not sure if that was something people normally register for but I figure I would just put it on there more for my own reference.

I will definitley make sure to have extra parts and have to look into a hands free bustier.

Robyn thanks for the bath temp suggestion. I just added it to my registry . I need to add more to my Amazon registry, the majority stuff is on my target one.

So...I have another question and Karin your list you sent has been very helpful, thanks again!

Anyways...I know this has been talked about to before but humidifiers; cool mist or warm mist? I keep reading about them and cannot chose between them and the more I read about them the less I want one :/.

Not much with new with baby today but tomorrow is my u/s appt with the specialist. I hope for further clarification and the whole situation. I have not been stressing to much about it because it's gonna be what it's to gonna be, right?

I can't remember the last time I updated on my job but today was the offical start of my new position which turned into a 10 hour day! It's always rough to start but once I get this down I think I'm really going to enjoy my new position.

On MIL side of things; she got a rejection notice from her latest interview. . I know she is getting a bit depressed about this but it's starting to get stressful for me. I really am hoping she finds something and is out before baby comes but I have a feeling that's not going to be the case. I'm trying so hard not to stress and worry about this but can't help it. Anyways ..I am tired. So I think I'm going to go get ready for bed.

Have a great night!!!

I went with cool mist. I had the same debate in my head. We have a warm mist, but I read a lot about the dangers of warm mist for baby. But I also read conflicting info in other places about how cool mist units could grow more bacteria and such.

After spending far too much time over-thinking it, I finally just bought a cool mist one.

I did my research and also used Consumer Reports (for which we have a subscription), and went with this one:

"Mya The Monkey" Cool Mist Humidifier - Crane: Design for Better Living

All the Crane humidifiers got really high reviews/ratings on consumer reports and around the web. Plus, they have really cute designs, both animal ones and the non-animal ones (which we actually really liked better than the animal ones, but decided since the animal one matched his room, to go with that).

I know Adrienne has a Crane too, and has been happy with it.

Glad my spreadsheet is useful! It's my lifesaver!

We have cool mist too. Mostly because I thought a warm mist humidifier was just for when you're sick since that's when my mom took ours out!!

Karin, I did see you had the crane on your list. I started looking at humidifiers for myself before I got pregnant because in the winter time it gets so dry in our house which causes me to wake up with stuffy noses and sore throats; so anyways I was considering getting the crane for me but never did.

So far it sounds like cool mist is best for babies so I ended up registering for the crane.

Yesterday we had another u/s. I will have to scan my pics today and post them. Everything went good. We met with the specialist and he is now saying baby is measuring in the 85 percentile. He said they tend to be a bit tighter with the measurements so that's probably why he went from 92 to 85. Dr also said there is nothing else to worry about and everything looks good. He does want to do another u/s so we have our next u/s on Jan 31. I'm not sure if I'm going to continue going in every 3-4 weeks for u/s yet but the dr said he has no way of knowing how the baby will continue to grow so be just wants to keep a close eye on baby for now. I will be meeting with my normal doctor on Thursday and will discuss everything with her since I have not seen her since the beginning of November so it will be nice to touch base and get her feedback on all of this. Anyways since everything is ok otherwise I'm not going to worry to much. I just tend to worry more about the birth part but the doc said they wouldn't allow the baby to get pass 10lbs. Right now, his weight is where it should be, he is 1lb 2oz. I guess they look at the measurements of the head, stomach, and, femur bones and go based on those measurements and that is how he is measuring larger.

Since we got done pretty early this time we went to Menards to buy the remaining items for the baby's room! I love how it's all coming together. Once all that is done, we can start looking at decorating. Yay!!!

Well I guess it's time for me to get going and start getting ready for work. I woke up early so I figure I would come on and update quick! Have a wonderful Wednesday everyone!!!

Oh by the way...I have been having some strong cravings for fruit and juice. I just can seem to get enough!!

Glad your appointment went well. Sounds like baby boy is doing swimmingly.

I LOVED all kinds of fruit while I was pregnant. Not a bad indulgence.

Glad you had a good appointment.

I went with the drop style crane cool mist humidifier. It goes with the look of our nursery and the reviews are top notch.

Sorry about the rejection notice :/ hopefully something great will come along soon for her! I'll keep my fingers crossed.

Hey Dawn

Haven't heard much from you in the DDC so just wanted to pop in and say I've been thinking about you and so glad to hear all is going well with you!!

I had the same questions about the warm or cool mist and after reading the responses you got I think we're going to go with the cool mist ...

Hi Dawn! I rarely come on JM these days but wanted to check in on you. Congrats on team blue!! We will have little boys SO close together . Emmett was also measuring big at my 22 week appointment and I had to go back because they couldnt get all the shots they needed.

I think there is lots of time left, lets hope these little boys slow down and aren't massive!!

Also to the rest of the ladies, thanks for posting your registry suggestions. Will definitley be using them!!

26 Weeks 2 days

Thanks for popping in. Sorry...I haven't been around much. I have been trying to pop in here and there but January is such a busy month for me because of a work project I have to do that's due at the end of the month but on top of my yearly project, I have been learning my new position which has been taking up way to much time therefore I have been working 10 plus hours a day and the last couple weeks I was busy with things in the evening.

I took a bread feeding class. I thought it was a really good class and I learned a lot on bfing as well as pumping.

My baby shower invites went out sometime at the beginning of the month and we were able to finish our registries. I ended up registering on Amazon. If people purchase items from there great if not, no biggie.

Since its been a while since I have updated my journal I can't remember what I did and did not post so I apologize if I end up repeating myself.

Well, we met with the specialist he put baby in the 85 percentile and will be doing a follow up January 31st and have another u/s. A couple days after my specialist appointment I finally got to see my normal OB doctor, I haven't seen her since November. Anyways, she walks in and says she's confused and said she would have never sent me to a specialist, she would have done a follow up u/s but there was know need to go to the extreme of seeing the high risk doctor. She also said to keep my appt with the specialist but don't make anymore unless he finds anything to be concerned about. My doctor also went over all the measurements with me, showed me exactly what the concerns were but what it came down too is that the baby is only measuring 4 days big....REALLY??? All this worry for a 4 day big baby?? I love that I get to see baby a couple extra times but its just annoying. Anyways, she said that she will continue to monitor the growth; there is no way to know how the baby will continue to grow but let's hope he slows down a bit. I loved how the doctor opening admittedly said they are wrong all the time about the size but either way she will keep baby in as long as possible but that could mean c-section of baby gets to big. I guess it's going to what it's going to be and not to worry.

Other than that baby seems to be doing good, he's moving kicking a lot more now he seems to move a lot more at night though. The last two nights I would up around 2:30-3 a d could not fa back to sleep and baby gets really active around 3:30. He's going to be a night baby, I can just tell.

The painting and remodel is down in the baby's room. The carpet is cleaned and now we can start getting furnture and decorating. The crib came in and we ordered some wall decals from esty on Sunday. I cannot wait until they come in!

Well that's all I have for now. I need to get to bed. Have a wondeful night!!!

Glad you have been busy, it makes the time just fly on by!!

Wow , only 4 days big and to scare a pregnant woman like that!! That's crazy! You were all worried , glad this OB explained things more!

I found that Ember had a schedule inside the womb and she kept it after being born. Those times she was bouncing around in the womb are her most alert times now that she is here. One of her times was 9-11pm so sometimes at bedtime, I have a very alert baby. She was awake until 1am last night. She wasn't fussy, but just laid there wide awake kicking her feet around in her swaddle and cooing. It was actually quite cute! you will be able to get your little one on a routine once he is here though

All this monitoring for a four-day big baby! I guess it is better to be on the safe side, but I hope you will stay grounded and not worry unnecessarily. I worried unnecessarily about Jack when I was being monitored at the end of my pregnancy, and it was all for nothing! It is really great that you get to see your little one more than usual though. Nothing wrong with that.

I hope work will slow down a bit once this big project is completed. Good luck with everything.

Wow! That is crazy all that with monitoring for just 4 days big! At least they are taking it all seriously and you know you're in good hands.

I hope work slows down soon.

Sean is also very much like he was in utero. Has no problem letting us know what he wants but is very easy-going and a great sleeper!

Glad to hear baby's room is coming along, and that it doesn't sound like his size is anything to worry about.

27 Weeks 2 Days

This month has flown by so fast, it's a good and bad thing...I think. I have 2 days left of my project; it's due end of day Thursday. I feel like I am not going to know what to do with myself after this project is done but I cannot wait until it is done!!!

Anways pregnancy wise everything is going good. I have still been dealing with acid reflux a lot and it's getting bad, it seems like evey little thing triggers it. Tums have been my best friend lately I am also starting to get backaches but nothing I can't handle.

We got the decals for the baby's room last weekend and we got them put up. I will post pics soon . Pretty much what's left for the baby's room is getting a dresser and some minor decorating but the decorating will have to wait until after the baby shower since I had a couple things on the registry for the room. I can't remember if I mentioned this of not but I got tons of baby clothes from my sister so I started piles and I cannot believe how much clothes my baby boy is going to have. I am in the process of sorting accordingly. Oh and our crib came in and we got that put together too. Of course what is the first things the cats do after we put the crib together??? Jump in it and now Bella seems to think its her bed lol. I have a sheet and blanket over the mattress that way no cat hair gets on the mattress and I can just was the blanket and sheets just before baby arrives.

We have been looking into daycare/babysitters and have it narrowed down to two in home day cares. One is a cousin of mine. She is a year younger than me and have 3 of her own kids; a 10 year old and twin 5 year old boys. She babysits a couple kids part-time so my baby would be the only full-time baby. The plus side to going to my cousin is she would give us an awesome deal on cost and that she is only a minute drive from my house. Part of me is a little hesitant though just because I would hate for family politics get in the way...I think it's different if its a parent, brother, or sister than a cousin. He other lady we met with of course is more money but reasonable. A different cousin, his son goes to this lady and just loves her. We really like her as well. She is right across street from a park and down the street from the library. She watches 2 boys about 3 years old and every once in while she watches a girl but only for an hour, an hour and half stretches. She was very friendly, open, talkative, and very willingly to allow us to stop in at anytime. She was babysitting one boy while we stopped in and got to see how she interacted with him. Her house is very baby proofed but has so many toys and activities for the kids so they won't be sitting in front of a tv all day. On other thing, when I would ask questions like how do you punish a child, etc she said it comes down to what we want and how we want things done.

We do have to make a decision pretty quickly so we don't lose both of our options...just tough.

What else....I know I have so many updates but I just can't think of everything right now. I am just so exchausted. It stinks because I get so tired but then 3 am rolls around and I wake up and am wide awake. Maybe exhaust that's when baby is most active. This afternoon it felt like he was playing the drums in my belly . I'm not sure how often I should be feeling movement at this point but I feel like I don't feel it enough. It may only be 3 - 4 times a day maybe more when you count a kick here a d a kick there. Is that normal?

Oh, one last thing. I say my oldest nephew (the one year old) Sunday and as I was leaving he said BYE and waved bye too. It was so cute!!!

Alright I am tired so I'm ending my post there...I think it's long enough anyways. Happy Tuesday!

Sean was a very laid back baby in utero and hardly ever did big kicks. He was much more roly poly. As long as you're feeling 10 movements in 2 hours baby boy is fine. glad you're doing well! Sorry about the heartburn. I had that too. Unfortunately it doesn't go away until the baby is born.

Glad your work project is almost done! Now more time to daydream about baby boy!! can't wait to see the pictures of your nursery. We bought a decal for the way and wow it was a pain to get up! It looks great and I'm glad we got it, but I think I swore like a trucker while attempting to get it up

I'm sure baby boy is moving around just fine! I would get nervous that movements weren't enough or something was wrong so I would poke my belly and wake a baby I used to think Ember would have her payback once she was born

Good luck with the daycare picking. They both sound like great options. Pick whichever one in your gut feels right. Once you picked a place you feel good about, it will make you feel better about having to go back to work
