hi! I'm sure baby is fine. It's hard to feel their movements when you're up and about. I would usually feel Sofia when I'm resting.. just sitting at my desk or on the couch.. or when I'm trying to sleep! lol
She has her quiet days as well which kind of freak me out but it never lasts more than a day. Eating some simple carbs usually gets her going.. juice, bagel, fuit, chocolate, that kind of thing.

I used to get reflux a lot at night and what I found helped was to sleep on a thicker pillow, so my upper body was tilted up a little more. I also tried to eat lighter meals close to bedtime compared to my big ones (I'm a late eater).

Glad all is well!

The pics of the nursery on fb were soooooo cute!!!

Wow, your babysitting options both sound good. That will be a tough decision to make. Let us know what you choose!

Like the other ladies said, can't wait to see pics of your darling boy!

I agree... go with your gut on the daycare option. It sounds like you can't really go wrong, so go with the one you're "feeling" the most.

I am loving the nursery, too.

27 Weeks 4days

We had another u/s today. We got to see baby open and close his mouth and swallow aminatic fluid. He was so cute. He likes to out his hand by his face too I have been so excited and happy since I found out I was pregnant but for some reason after saying baby today I am even more excited and cannot wait until he's here but at the same time I am not in a hurry and enjoying pregnancy. He also seems to be moving a lot more yesterday and today; or maybe I am just paying g more attention but its so fun to see and feel his kicks. Anyways everything went good. The specialist said he's now measuring in the 77 percentile so that outs him were we want him to be and everything else looked good. We will not be going back, no need but I think my normal OB doctor will continue to monitor baby's growth by my belly I think... So anyways everything is going good No more u/s . It is amazing to see baby at this point, he looks so much bigger and much more defined.

Work wise...well project due date day. I got everything I could done but will have a bit of clean up this next week. I think I still have another busy week ahead of me but it shouldn't be as stressful.

This weekend...not really sure what is going on; nothing planned. May go shopping for a dresser for baby and I want to make a list of what we still need and need to do. So many things keep coming to mind, so I just need to write things down.

I have also been trying to think up a birth plan. I haven't discussed anything with my doctor but I am so indecisive as to if I want to go all natural or have an epi. I hate needles so a needle in the back scares me sooo much!

We also have not even come close to deciding and agreeing on a baby name.... So hard to do!!

Well that's all I have for the day! Happy Thursday!

That's great about baby's size! I bet you will miss the u/s though! Don't you just live seeing baby and hearing that heartbeat! Ember ALWAYS had her hands up by her face and to this day will keep her hands up, even when she nurses her little hands are covering her face. It's really cute, but made swaddling hard since she was a little escape artist and got her hands free when swaddled in a blanket, no matter how tight. She would then startle or get upset when she realized her hands were out of the swaddle. So if you plan on swaddling, Make sure to get the Velcro swaddles as those will keep those hands down better for the escape artist.

Can't believe you are already 27 weeks. You are in your final trimester!! Making a list toward the end will help you keep track of things you need to do still and things you need to buy. Little man will be here before you know it, but you still have plenty of time to pick a name. We were going to wait until we met Ember, but we fell in love with the name and "tried" it out for a few weeks so we were able to pick just before she got here. Good luck though! Naming is tough!

I thought the same thing about the epi and I have a phobia of needles. I loathe them! Anesthesiologist came in and I didn't see anything. He washed me up and right after a very painful contraction I felt a small pinch from the tiny shot to numb the area and that was all I felt. That little stick was nothing compared to the contractions and OH the relief!! My plan was to labor as long ad possible and if I needed the epi I would get one. I wanted to do things naturally but wasn't opposed to pain relief. If you are scared of the needle, trust me when I say it won't phase you during labor and it doesn't hurt other than the little stick from the shot you get to numb the area. I'm sure your OB can talk to you about all your options though and provide answers to any of your questions or concerns. Plus any birthing classes you may take, will also include some information on some of your options. Making a birth plan just means you are that much closer to THE day!!!

Yay that baby is in the 77 percentile, but sorry that you won't have any more u/s's of your darling boy. Enjoy your weekend!

How are you already in your third trimester?! Glad that baby boy is looking great. Boo for no more ultrasounds, though!

I second the advice about sleep sacks. Soooooo much easier than swaddling. Sean even gets his hands out of the sleep sack swaddle, but it's much harder for him.

I also second the epi. I HATE needles and have to lie down when getting them since I've passed out several times. Getting the epi was a breeze and it's totally true that it's nothing compared to the contractions. I was terrified of the epi and I would get it in a heartbeat again it was that awesome! As far as the birth plan, I never wrote anything down but I knew I wanted skin to skin immediately and for Bert to cut the cord. I had other ideas but those were most important to me. Well, Sean's birth went absolutely NOTHING like I would have planned. Bert didn't get to cut the cord and I didn't get to do skin to skin for about 1/2 hour or so. I think the best birth plan is to have an idea of what you want and then just go with the flow. I have no regrets or "what ifs" about Sean's birth because I had no birth plan except "get baby here safely and healthy for both of us." When I was pushing I didn't realize how helpful it was to have someone counting for me so when they didn't count I had to request they count to 10 for me with every push.

28 Weeks 1 Day. 3rd trimester!!

Can you believe it?!?!? Robyn, I have no idea how I'm this far along already??? I think between the holidays and January being a busy month of me made time fly!!! I am ready for it to slow down a bit, for now anyways.

Over the weekend we went shopping and found a dresser and decided to get a nightstand as well! We had to order it because they didn't have any in stock in our color. We got the dresser at the same place we got out bedroom set 5 years ago and when we got the bedroom set we, don't really no why but we purchased the warranty but the deal was if you don't use it in 5 years you get half back towards another purchase so that was a plus! It will be here in 6-8 weeks, but it can come in sooner. I kind of hope it comes in sooner because I have likes of clothes sitting in the floor waiting to be washed and put away. I got tons of clothes from my sister...new born all the way up to 12 months, I am pretty much set! I have tons of sleepers, socks, hats, and onesies; a couple pairs of pants, do you think I will need shorts for summer time or do babies pretty much live in onesies for the first few months???

So DH and made a decision on daycare so I was planning on calling after dinner and just as I was finishing up she had called to follow up because we was approached by some else and wanted to see if we had made a decision...how crazy is that??? She did say was wasn't trying to rush us either but I told her we have and I was about to call her. We decided on the lady were my cousin's son goes. She's a little more money than my cousin who said she would babysit but we feel good about out decision. I trust my cousin would take care if my baby but I just worry about family politics and what if's...ya know. It's always different when it's your sibilings or parents... Anyways, when I spoke to this lady she said to call her after the baby's born and when the weather gets nice out to stop by a couple times with him so she can meet him and he can meet the other kids (2 boys about 3 and 1 girl very part-time) and then I can see what they do all day. It is very reassuring that she is very offering and welcoming us into her home without me having to ask to do so. I feel really good about our decision!!! I'm so happy we didn't decide to give the first lady we were supposed to meet with a second chance... There must have been a reason for ll that happening.

Baby is doing good. He is moving a lot more and not just kicks, I do wondering that is he doing in there sometimes!

I will update with a pic shortly too but I went shopping and but some maternity clothes...I finally getting to the point where I needed too!

Alright...my cat is looking at me like she wants me to play with her so I will leave it at that! I hope everyone had a wonderful day!!!

That's great you picked a day care! What a relief!! Sounds like your nursery is coming along nicely. It will be nice when you can put everything away. You will feel so accomplished and ready, if that makes sense. After I washed everything and put it away, I just felt more ready.

Week 28 Day 2

I need to rant for a bit...sorry.

So apparently 2 people from DH's family never got invites but they were on my list of invites so I know they were invited. My SIL said she mailed out everything on the list so who knows what happened! So of course she's pissed off about especially because there family consists of like 7 people and for sure 2 of them are not going. One isn't going since she had plans and didn't get her invite. The second one isn't going because she didn't know if her daughter was invited so they decided to go to a sporting event instead. I did not have the name of people's children on the invite...was I supposed too??? Honestly you would just know the children can come and if they didn't know they could ask. It's just to much to try to remember everyone's child's name..ya know.

Either way...it's not my fault and if they chose not to come that is there choice. This is my baby shower and I should not have to deal with any of this BS. First I had to deal with my SIL being cheap and wanting us to have the shower in my garage rather than renting a place to this... Seriously!!! Awww!

Secondly...my MIL still has not gotten a job and I have 12 weeks left. DH does not understand why I want it to be just him and me when the baby comes (am I being selfish wanting this). My MIL can stay with her sister but if she does she can't bring her cat. I would feel bad about her not getting to keep her cat except for the fact that she went on another job interview and said she didn't like the company and it was an hour drive so she said she is not taking it. I don't know if she was ever offered the job but the fact that she said she isn't going to take makes me feel like she is now taking advantage (a little bit anyways). I understand not wanting to drive an hour to work but if she moved across town it could drop her drive to 35-40 mins and the pay was above her expectations!!

I am trying so hard not to stress about this bec I know how it's so bad for the baby but I can't help. For some reason I have been feeling extra emtional....grrr.

Anyways, I wish I had a lot of good things to say today but that was my day besides work!

I hope everyone had a better day than me. Happy Tuesday!

I'm sorry you are dealing with issues for your shower. It seems like there is always something. It will be here soon and I'm sure your shower will be wonderful!

Your MIL saying she won't take that job would annoy me! It does sound like she is sort of taking advantage of your kindness. You gave her a deadline so she shouldn't be so picky about the job. She can keep looking once she has a job if she isn't happy. I would stick to your guns about having her out once baby comes. Yes, having family around can be a huge help with cooking and cleaning, but it will interfere with your routine. For instance, if you want to nurse in the living room and then air dry, having your MIL around may make that harder. Worrying about going to another room or wearing a cover, which is really annoying, isn't something you will want to do do long term. I hope she finds something soon so you don't have to stress about it.

Completely agree about Julie. She won't be homeless if you stick to your guns. And nursing is hard at first. I really started to resent having people other than DH around when trying to get the hang of nursing and pumping.

Welcome to the third trimester!

Glad you decided on a daycare. It's such a big decision, and I'm glad you're really happy with it!

Sorry you're stressing about coming down to the wire with your MIL. I understand the cat situation, but couldn't you all keep the cat while she moves in with her sister. Then she can have her cat back when she finds a job and her own place? It wouldn't be permanent after all. I hope everything works out sooner rather than later.

Ditto what the others said. I love having my mom around but if it were permanent I might feel differently. I would stick with your original deadline and perhaps offer to keep the cat on a temp basis if that helps her out.

How did I miss your update the other day where you said you found a day care! That's great!

About the summer, I was actually just talking to DH about that since we're going to Florida and I need to figure out Sean's clothing for that trip. I think we're going to stick mainly with onesies for the trip. He has one shorts outfit that I bought (I'd bought more last year when Carter's had a sale on their summer stuff but I bought 3 months thinking he'd be born a month later and that we'd go in February), but we have several short-sleeved onesies that he wears hoodies with or a long-sleeved onesie under now and he could wear just those in FL. The only thing to think about is the sunshine. They're not supposed to wear sunscreen if they are younger than 6 months old, but I got my pediatrician's permission to use natural sunscreen on him for the trip to FL so I bought some California Baby sunscreen.

I am on the same page...I just want my privacy and being that this is out first I really want it to be just DH and me so we can figure things out for ourselves until we get into rountine. Anyways, I did talk to DH about how I felt about all this a few days ago....I stressed that its nothing personal and nothing against his mom, etc and I said that I would be willing to keep her cat here with us until she gets her own place. Right now my MIL and her cat are staying in the basement (it's finished ) so the cats are not together right now and I said that if we are going to be keeping her cat with us I want to out them all together now, or sooner or later and not wait until after the baby's born. The last thing I need to deal with trying to get 3 cats to get along while taking care of a new born. Anyways...DH did have a talk with her not that long ago and that's when she mentioned her sister did offer her a place to stay. The reason the cats are not together is that my MIL did not want to put them together, her cat is a little different; she does not like people, she hisses at everyone, and she's scared of everything. I almost wonder if putting her with other cats would be a good thing???

Yes Robyn we found a daycare. I'm very excited about it and I feel good about our choice . I'm also thinking onesies will probaby all he needs for summer .

Yay about finding a great daycare! I know that it must have been a tough decision.

I agree with the other ladies, having a deadline and sticking to your guns is key (sounds like you are already doing this). I'm glad that DH is on the same page and hopefully he'll encourage MIL to stay with her sister when the baby is born.

Pics of the baby's room unfurnished...

(before wall decals)

Once the baby's room is completely furnished and decorated I will post more pics

Today is seriously a day where I cannot stop eating...if feel constantly hungry! DH got to pick out a gift from work for his 10 year anniversary and he picked an indoor grill. We tried it out on making steaks and it turned out really good. It had the tenderness of grilled steak, the nice grilled marks, but it didn't have the grilled steak taste. We had steak and sweet potatoe and I just realized I forgot to make the salad lol.

Anyways...DH is on a remodel kick and decided we should redo our bedroom while the MIL is here and before the baby comes. Our house is now a disaster because we had to move everything out of our room and closet and we are now sleeping in our spare bedroom. My MIL started painting the bedroom on Sunday and hopes to have it completed in the next couple days. We decided to go with gray and blue walls; we are doing the same kind of look as the baby's room...2 walls one color and 2 walls another, a white ceiling, and white molding. I really love the white molding look!

Baby wise, not much new. I went to look up the schedule of the birthing classes and the next Saturday class is Feb 23rd, the day of my shower. Can you believe the shower is a weeks and a half away?!?! Anyways, the next Saturday class isn't until March 16th so it looks like that's when I will be taking the birthing class.

Other than that not much to update. Happy Tuesday!
