Yup, you can complain and feel awful while still being thankful for the experience.

Thanks ladies, I think you hit it on the head with me not wanting to complain because I've waited so long for this, etc etc... so thanks for the reassurances!!

Trust me, I've waited for this for a LONG time, and while overall, I can't complain too much, lately, my days have been getting harder, and I find myself *complaining* more than I would like. I used to feel really bad about it, but honestly, I just try not to whine, and just state the facts, and, then much to DH's annoyance, I always say things like "I know I said I wouldn't complain, but..."...but then I ALWAYS say that no matter what I feel like, I am so in love with being pregnant, that I would take every single moan, groan, pain, and yucky that comes along with it!

I understand completely! I don't like to whine but more or less like Karin said state the facts and what is going on. When nothing is going on, is when I start to freak out .

Yay for feeling the baby! It started with a couple twinges and then in a few days I started to feel the flutters .

I found eatting anything cold helped with my m/s. I was eating a lot of icecream not because I craved it but because it was cold and sat well with my stomach.

I hope you are feeling better soon!!!

I'm finally over the worst 2 week cold I've had...whew.

The good news.. we have FINALLY decided on a first name... now to decide on the middle name. Do I appease my mother and use her name as a middle name (though I don't really care for it)..or find another middle name and just let her know we've decided not to do family names...

IF we go the family name way.. it'll be Kaia Myrna..
If we decide not to.. I have NO Idea what the middle name will be... lol Kinda thinking along the lines of Kaia Lily or Kaia Lillian..but not sure on whether I like the ring of that either yet.

Oh, and while I'm mentioning the names here, we will NOT be letting anyone know what it is before birth .. so no mentions on facebook obviously

I love the name Kaia! So pretty! No worries, I won't say anything on FB. You have to like your child's name so if you don't like Myrna (and it is a very old-fashioned name that I don't think goes well with Kaia) then don't.

Happy New Year!

Thanks ladies
We're not firm on the Lily being the middle name yet, but we know we're going with the Kaia for sure!

Now, for the eek part. I stepped on the scale today. FIrst time since my last dr appointment... I'm up 15 pounds in a month... WTH? I can't figure out how.. I haven't changed my eating habits and in fact was sick for 2 weeks and had a hard time eating...sooo..what the heck happened there??

Hopefully my dr won't freak out about it on Friday.. since I'm only supposed to gain 20 pounds max this pregnancy..and uhm, I just hit that and I still have 4 months to go

I gained 50lbs with my pregnancy and I was eating less than pre-pregnancy. Some women's bodies just like to hold onto weight. As frustrating as it is, it's not unusual. The good news is I lost 35 of those lbs already without even trying so I'm sure you'll be able to lose it easily.

Ditto what Robyn said...every woman responds to pregnancy differently, and I'm finding periods during later pregnancy where I'm actually losing weight. Things have a way of balancing out!

Ok, so let's start off with.. "I'm an idiot". Ok, now for the update.

First off, no issues with the protein and glucose like I did last time.. so that must have been just a bad day Also, my blood pressure went down!! (Last appointment it was a little high..though nothing to be concerned about). She started talking about how mine was still high (the bottom number is 82), but when she looked back at my chart, my pre-pregnancy blood pressure is usually about that..so it’s not a concern after all. (My top number went from 136 to 126 this appointment too..which is good).

And last off…my weight gain issues.
Uhm, I’m an idiot? Because my dr weighs in kgs, I thought I knew what it was in pounds.. I remember I looked it up at one point.. but apparently my memory is totally faulty. So I didn’t gain any weight this month at ALL. I was confused at first when my dr said “you haven’t gained any weight, but the baby had a growth spurt” (because the top of my uterus went from an inch and a half below my belly button to an inch above).. so I googled things when I got to work. My net gain over the pregnancy so far has actually only been about 7 pounds. All that freaking out for nothing.

Oh, and the bad cold is making a return appearance…the cough started late yesterday afternoon and is in full swing now.

That would throw me off, too! What do people normally weigh themselves in Canada?

I hope the cold goes away quickly!
