Update on the Magoo.

When I went to pick him up yesterday, they brought him out and he was crying so hard and shaking... poor guy! Turns out part of it was because his collar was rubbing on one of the wounds. So, we put his harness on and got him into the car.

At home he was fairly quiet, but didn't refuse his dinner (good sign), and was the biggest snugglebug. He slept well overnight, though we found he was starting to lick obsessively (his bed, the plastic under his bed, his feet and legs). I think it's because he wants to lick his wounds, but can't reach them (which is good for us, so we didn't have to drag his cone out).

This morning, he has more energy, was wagging his tail, and seemed more himself personality wise. I think a lot of it was just shock and he seems to be getting over that. He's still sore (obviously), so we gave him half an aspirin before putting him in the laundry room to sleep the day away.

I'll probably pull him out of daycare tomorrow to give him some extra time to heal, but I think he'll be just fine!

I'm so glad he is feeling better today. I agree, when they refuse dinner, that's never good, so I'm really glad he ate! When Max had his toes removed, they were all bandaged so he couldn't get to them. We didn't cone him, because he wasn't touching the bandages at all, but he obsessively licked the OTHER foot.

Hope he continues to improve and that those wounds heal nicely.

Nice to know that he's not totally weird for licking OTHER places!

Max was sure a trooper through his whole ordeal!!!

Update on ME

Well, for the last week all my signs/symptoms were gone.. I was able to stay up past 9pm (past 8pm was a feat before), the insane hunger was gone, the motion sickness and MS was gone, I was able to sleep on my stomach comfortably again....

Well, apparently that's all changed again. Last night I barely made it past 8pm, then I was up at 4am not being able to go back to sleep *mumble*... been absolutely exhausted today at work... STARVING constantly... and big time MS again (worst than I've had in the past actually).

I'm definitely taking it as a good thing

And tonight I'll be trying the doppler again.. I hadn't tried it again since that first time since Appa was obviously my priority for the last few days. But now that he's on the mend (and back at daycare today), I want to see if I can find it.

What?! This isn't a journal for Appa?!

I think you're at the stage where the placenta is taking over and you'll notice the symptoms getting better. Totally normal!

I hope you can find the heartbeat, but if you can't the baby is still so small it can be difficult to find even for the doctors.

Hahaha, I know.. what can I say.. all the exciting interesting things happen to center around my dog

And I didn't play with the doppler again..fell asleep on the couch before I had a chance to and then was too tired. Ah well! I'm not worried

Very much so!! Of course as soon as I called DH to come listen, I lost it...it took me about another 5 mins to find it again, but totally awesome!!! Had to press down pretty hard though - crazy!

To celebrate, I went to the crazy huge mall north of the city and bought myself some maternity jeans since I only have 1 pair of jeans that fits comfortably right now. YAY

Thanks!! We couldn't get it to work as intended (with his nose up to my stomach) as you could tell I was giving him food to get his nose there... then at the end he was just frustrated and hit my stomach with his paw and we just happened to catch that shot.. it was awesome.

I'll be posting it here for any not on my fb later on... I tried to upload it to photobucket yesterday, my internet at home was NOT working right and couldn't get it to upload (took 5 tries to get it on fb alone!).

What I was most impressed about...was that people got it right away... and that the first one was a GUY... DH thought it was way too vague...haha.

I loved your announcement too!

I do have to say I was like you. I started feeling a bit better around 10 weeks and then during 11 weeks I was sick again but once 12 weeks hit I was feeling better a little each day. I'm thinking it must have to do what's going on with the baby that week.

With all the Doppler talk makes me want to buy one but I think I would be way to obsessed

Do good?

We went for the NT scan today and passed it with flying colours (ratio with just MA for Tri21 is 1:342, but with all my tests it was adjusted to 1:6842.. so amazing screen). I was absolutely AMAZED at how much the ultrasounds showed.. like the brains??? REALLY??? That was SO FREAKIN COOL!!!

Heartbeat was good at 168 (highest I've rated it at home was 174 and we know the home dopplers aren't always as accurate).

The baby was quite comfortably on it's stomach and would NOT roll over for the ultrasound tech.. we tried laying on one side and having her "massage" it trying to roll it over, laying on the other... she basically turned my tummy into one giant earthquake and FINALLY at the very end it rolled onto it's back..otherwise it was quite content to be on it's stomach and side.

And by then, the baby was a moving machine, kicking and waving, and ended up curling up into a little ball (which I'm not surprised.. I mean, the poor baby was bounced around for at least 10 minutes.. LOL). AND, of course, while the tech was bouncing the stomach, she was bouncing it WITH the ultrasound probe, so we could 'watch' it bounce though blurrily...

Now DH says he's going to break down into giggles when we DTD, because that's all he's going to imagine.

I'll post the ultrasound pic once i get a decent scan of it... having a rough time with it right now!

OH, and one last thing.. LOL.. on my dating scan I was measuring a week behind.. I'm now only meauring 2 days behind.. YAY
