We're chugging along. Thanks, everyone, I sure do hope May is better for us.

I can't believe Sean's half-birthday is coming up either! It does seem like time is going by so fast. People tell you it goes fast, but I think it's one of those things that you just don't understand until you become one. Kinda like pajama jeans. I never understood them before. Now that I'm a mom, I totally want some!

We're battling thrush again. I have it in multiple spots on me. I finally ordered some probiotics for both of us that should arrive on Monday. Can't wait to start them! My steroid inhaler for my asthma apparently puts me at greater risk for getting this. Plus, I love my carbs and sugars. ;-)

Sean is scooting all over the place! He has also started getting up on hands and knees and in the plank position for a split second each time. I think it's time to start baby proofing! It's amazing how much they can get around just through scooting and rolling. I'd say he's mobile, even though he's not crawling.

Crib transition is not going well. Partly because I'm not sleeping well and it's just easier to bring him into bed with me. I spoke with my doctor about it today (he's also a sleep specialist) and he said not to worry about it right now. He said it's more important for me to get through the acute grieving phase and in a month or two, when I'm sleeping better and feeling better, to try again. I am itching to get him in the crib and get back to being with DH at night, but I think that sounds like the best plan.

This weekend we're burying my mom's ashes. That won't be very fun, but hopefully it'll be the end of all this and we can start moving forward once and for all. I know there is no good time for this to happen, but having it happen so close to her birthday and Mother's Day sucks.

As long as the weather is okay, I'm going to take some 6 month photos of Sean at the beach and at a cranberry bog. I can't wait!

Yep, I totally laughed out loud to the pajama jeans. It is crazy how time flies. I knew it would, but after becoming a mom, I realized how fast that meant.

Oh, Robyn, I can imagine it's such a hard time for you. I think your doctor gave some great advice about the transition to the crib. Enjoy those nighttime snuggles from Sean for a while longer. As fast as his first six months have flown, the next couple will probably seem like the blink of an eye.

I hope the probiotics help you both. They certainly can't hurt.

I hope May is a better month for you too.

I Know they say time flies once. You have kids and that's why I am trying to spend as much time with Ashton as I can since I know I have to go back to work and that's going to be here before I know it!

Wow, it is hard to believe Sean is 5 months and that's great he's starting to scoot around!!!

Just read your journal. So sorry for your loss, Robyn, though I'm glad you could be there to say goodbye. Hope Sean is taking good care of you!

I had a good Mother's Day, well as good as can be expected. We did my Mother's Day dinner on Saturday. We went out with my dad and I got lobster mac and cheese. On Mother's Day we went to lunch with DH's family. MIL is stuck in FL because SFIL is having complications from his cancer treatment so she wasn't there, but we saw DH's grandmother and his aunts. We then went to put flowers at my mother's grave. DH and Sean bought me some roses and I got a nice card.

Yesterday, for my birthday, Sean took me out to breakfast at the Cracker Barrel. I thought about going to a local diner that has great food, but just couldn't get the idea of Cracker Barrel's pancakes out of my mind. Then Sean played in his sandbox for the first time. He loved it! He didn't get much sand in his mouth. I was able to swat away his hand when he tried eating it, but he got some from mouthing the sand toys. Oh, well! It'll happen regardless!

Last night we had to go to Sean's baptism class. It was ridiculous. I feel like everything could have been said in a letter. We all felt like the lady was very unprepared and didn't seem like she knew what she was doing. Waste of an hour if you ask me. I just have to get the baptism date scheduled now.

Today my dad is coming over to celebrate my birthday. My brother was supposed to come but he picked up overtime so won't be able to make it. My sister can't come either, but we saw her yesterday. I can't wait for my Dairy Queen cake!

Sean is doing a great job with his solids! We started him on a straw cup and after only 5-6 tries he got it! He's a great eater, too. He doesn't usually eat a whole lot in a sitting, usually just 1-2 tbsp but so far he likes everything except peas and green beans. I can't blame him, though.

I think Sean has allergies. He's been stuffy and I think his eyes are a bit red. The poor kid hates getting his nose sucked, but it's a necessary evil. I feel so badly because both DH and I have them but I was hoping Sean would be spared. The doctor thinks it's just a cold, but I'm not convinced. I ended up getting a Nosefrida and it is a lot better at getting all the gunk out. It's a gross idea, but it does really work and you can't get the boogers in your mouth so it's all good. :-)

We're working on the crib transition now. It's going okay. When I was dealing with the immediate aftermath of my mom's death I was just kind of doing what I needed to do to get by. That meant we were going to bed at midnight every night. Well, now I need to undo that. He doesn't like to go down at 9 when he's tired. He's been napping in his swing at that time. But I'm going to keep trying and I know that eventually he'll get back there. We're up to three hours in the crib in the first stretch at midnight, which isn't bad for only 4 nights! Right now Sean naps in his swing, but I would like to get him napping in his crib, too. I'm just not sure when I want to start that. It's really laziness on my part and not wanting to put the work into it since it's so easy to just put him in his swing and let him fall asleep. Plus, we're hardly ever home so it's not something that would be consistent. I'm making an effort to stay at home more, though.

I hope everyone had a great first Mother's Day!

I'm glad you were able to enjoy Mother's Day.

I hope the crib transition gets easier. Right now the only place I can get Ashton to sleep is his vibrating chair. He won't sleep in his bassinet, swing, or crib. We are trying to get Ashton sleeping in his crib before I have to go back to work.

That stinks Sean may have allergies . Not fun! However, the pictures of Sean in the sand are super cute

Sean has had a big week! It all started with a horrible moment for me: Sean fell off the changing table at Gymboree. The way their changing room is set up, it's very small and there is nowhere to put Sean on the ground while I get out the stuff, so I set him down on the table, which is very wide, and get my stuff out. I set him down so the side he usually tries to roll to on the table was against the wall. Well, of course this one time he rolled the opposite way. I felt horrible! He was okay, though, with no marks and no lasting effects.

He got this big bruised-looking bump on his gums right where his bottom front teeth would come in. Turns out it was an eruption cyst. Apparently babies can get them shortly before they cut a tooth.

Friday night, Sean started doing this cute little thing where he rapidly shakes his head as if saying "no." I got him checked out by the doctor just in case it was a side effect from his fall but the doctor said he's perfect. I figured that was the case but I was relieved to hear her say that.

Saturday morning Sean started army crawling! Of course it was on one of the few Saturdays DH was not home and he didn't get to see it. I took a video, though. He's pretty good at it!

Sunday, Sean had his first cookout and campfire. He was a hit! He also started reaching for my sister's dog and our cats to try to pet them. It's so cute seeing him get curious about animals! I can't wait to take him to the petting zoo!

Monday, the eruption cyst was gone and two teeth took it's place on Tuesday! Sean is no longer a toothless wonder! They came in so quickly. He was a bit fussier than usual, but nothing teething tablets and extra cuddles from Mommy couldn't handle.

We're working hard on the crib transition. We've made great improvements in the two weeks we've been at it. He'll now sleep up to 3 hours at a time in there. I can keep him in there from about 9-2 and then we have issues getting him back in there, but just a few days ago he wouldn't go back in after midnight so I'm just going to keep at it and I know I'll get my great sleeper back eventually.

Today was our last day of Gymboree for the summer. I love to have summers be free and fly by the seat of your pants. Next week is our last Music Together class until the fall, too. Sean has loved both of them and I cannot wait to start them back up in the fall.

Right now, though, Sean has his sandbox, walker, outdoor swing, baby pool, and beach stuff all ready to go for the summer. It's supposed to be 90° this weekend so I think Sean and I will hit the beach!

I hope everyone is doing well! It's so quiet in here, but I know it's because we're all now busy with our sweet babies.

Im glad the crib transition is going well and YAY for a tooth! I loved the gummy smile, but seeing those two little teeth pop up more everyday is the cutest thing! Your summer sounds fun and you will be busy with lots of fun things for Sean!
