She recently discovered her toes and likes to grab them (no putting them in her mouth yet though).
She loves to talk and sing and jibber jabber all day long...just like mama.
She didn't have a 5-month doc visit but if my bathroom scale is accurate, she's almost 18 lbs already! She still fits into some 3 month clothes but mostly wears 6 month. She has big muscular thighs though and can easily wear 9 month pants.
I'm on my phone now but will post recent photos this weekend.
Kira is back to sleeping through the night!! Hooray!!
This is my new favorite outfit for her. The jeans were hand-me-downs from a friend's kid and the shirt/onesie was a gift from my sister-in-law. I was a little worried at first when she gave us cute short-sleeved outfits in September but then it turned really hot again last week. Yay!
Yeah, not so much with the sleeping through the night anymore. That was short lived. Now she's up every couple of hours all night making chatty noises. There's nothing wrong as far as I can tell (sometimes she doesn't even really seem to be awake) but she chats and chats and chats -- loudly! -- all night long.
She's sitting up like a champ!
We started her on some baby foods last week; she seems to like the taste but is still doing quite a bit of tongue thrust.
We just got back from Kira's 6-month wellness visit and she's doing awesome as always.
She had a great time sitting on the exam table and playing with/ripping the thin paper. Tissue paper: best toy ever.
Head circumference: 43.5 cm (82.49 percentile) Height: 26″ (52.35 percentile) Weight: 18 lbs 1 oz (81.71 percentile)
We were joking that instead of being short like her mom or tall like her dad, she's exactly right in the middle!
Two shots again today, though they were slightly different this time: one for DTaP/Hib/Polio and one for the seasonal flu. She also got the oral drops for rotavirus. We'll go back in a month for the 2nd seasonal flu shot and for the Pneumococcal conjugate.
