Not impressed....rant.

Ok, so I had my last OB appointment on Mar 28, and she told me to go get my gd test sometime in the next couple weeks. So, knowing I would have the following Thursday off, I planned to do it then, The day before, I couldn't remember if I had to fast or not, so I called the blood testing place, and the girl I spoke to told me I did NOT have to. So I didn't.
So of course when I got there, and they asked me if I fasted, I said no. So...couldn't do my freaking test.
I planned to go back tomorrow, being my day off again, but now due to a co-working dealing with some serious health issues, I have to work. So I called the blood place to find out their hours...
8am-4:30pm. How can anyone who works a freaking job ever GO!?? and they aren't open on the weekends. what kind of bulls**t is that. Seriously. And of course they don't take appointments. Freakin pisses me off. At least if I could make an appointment, and plan to be a little bit late for work...that would be do-able. But I work 7:30-5:30, Mon-Fri. Seriously...what the hell am I supposed to do??

I think I am going to call my OB tomorrow and see just have important this is, or that it is ok that I can't get it done for probably another whole week. I'm not overly concerned about having GD, but you really never know..and it's my daughters health, so I'd rather be safe than sorry, but I really cannot afford to take off work for who knows how long waiting to get in.

UGH! Sorry for the rant. I'm just not impressed.

I would definitely call your OB and see if they can set anything up for you! I know that your job is supposed to give you time off for whatever doctors deem necessary. It is inconvenient though

I hope you get it figured out soon and that your OB's office works with you

I'm actually unable to do mine due to schedule conflicts. Which is fine with me since I don't want to do it anyways. I hope you can get it figured out!

Im in the same shoe..8.30-6 work schedule, m-sat.
I basically told m,y boss i have to go, and took the earliest app, so i can go to work after,I will be still at least 3 hours late...that's it..lol

You dont have any labs close by open on the weekends? At our local hospital we have an outpatient lab that is open later, till 7 for the public.. it might be worth checking into, the hospital is NOT on our forms, i found that out by fluke! I know your a few hours away from me..but how about on the weekend taking a drive down if your dr cant wait longer/ Honestly the dr will get the results fast, so waiting a whole other week, shouldnt hurt too much. Wow, your in a such a pickle right now..id be screaming or hitting something to!
