I had a c-setion 2 weeks ago. I just finished with all bleeding/discharge. Do you think I can swim this weekend? It is really hot here!

Second, from below my belly button to my incision is numb or tingly. Will this go away? Is it normal?

Hmm. I would call your doctor about the swimming thing! As for the numbness, mine went away after about 2 months. The numbness was so strange, and no one ever warned me about it! lol

I had a c-section with my last baby and plan on another one and I was wondering about the swimming part as well.....I will have to ask that as well...
As for the numbness, yes it is normal....Mine lasted quite a while....the numbness diminished but months after I still had a bt of numbness around the incision....

How was your incision closed?

Sometimes the bleeding can pick up randomly any time during the 6-8 weeks postpartum. Many people will think it has stopped at 2-3 weeks then it will pick up randomly based on your activity levels (it's pretty much the scab from where the placenta was attached healing, when you do too much, it's like you are scratching at that scab).

I was numb for quite some time...it takes a while but it slowly comes back.

wow done bleeding after 2 weeks?? i am jealous!!! If it is a clean water source (a pool) then I think you would be fine if you are completely done bleeding. No dirty water as your cervix is probably not closed all the way. But I would just call your OB to be sure.

My ob said three weeks and down bleeding for baths or swimming in pool. Numbness takes some time to go away.
