What are some "wonderful" comments you've gotten lately that just make you roll your eyes, etc?
Today I saw a "friend" who I haven't seen in about 2 weeks. Her first comment was, "oh wow!" Apparently, I just didn't look pregnant 2 weeks ago and now I do. Geee, thanks! Not only that, but had a conversation with another mom from the kid's school about my size. As if I wasn't there. Thankfully, I rarely see her. Maybe once a month if that unless the kids have activities that overlap.
Left me feeling utterly huge, while I'm having BH and otherwise just usually end of pregnancy discomforts.

I know I've had so many, but I honestly don't remember any of them!! I tend to just let it in one ear and out the other. Last week someone said something silly (I'll have to ask DH what it was), and he got really upset and even like an hour or 2 later still going "why would she SAY something like that!?" (with a few more explicitves lol) And I told him "if I let every stupid/ "wonderful" comments people said get to me like that, I would go CRAZY!!!!"
I'm getting sick of people saying DS will turn into a total brat or what not when the baby comes. DS is a pretty good kid and he's really excited (so far) for baby to get here. I really don't expect that to change a lot. I've done a lot to help prepare him for what to expect with baby, and so has DH.
Also the "traumatizing" birth stories of people's sisters, cousins, wives, etc. I just try to ignore them and think "well, if you had done a little more research about things before delivery, maybe this 'complication' or that wouldn't have arisen." The last story I got was about how such and such a hospital (the one I'm delivering at incidentally) almost killed her sister cause THEY sent her home and SHE almost bled to death! Um, yeah. They wont keep you forever and they send you HOME with instructions of what to look for and how to monitor for complications such as bleeding. If she didn't listen to the instructions, then that isn't the HOSPITALS fault! That's hers for not listening or going in when she thought something was wrong. When that person asked me where I was going to deliver after telling me her story, she had a look of terror on her face! LOL I told her it was fine, I knew exactly what to do if I were to start bleeding! lol

I've been pretty lucky since leaving work. I haven't had to deal with any silly comments. What I am getting now though is when telling people I'm having a scheduled c-section they immediately say, "Oh! I'm sorry." like I just told them some terrible news. They then talk about it like it's a huge downer and it's best to keep Hannah safe, etc etc etc. Well, duh! Her safety is important, but that's not what it's about. She's breech. It's not that she or I are in danger. It's the ONLY way she can be delivered. So...why is it a bad thing? Forget about the section, she has a birthday, let's get excited that her arrival is very soon!!
Talking to OH's step mom the other day, she asked how much I had gained...kind of personal seeing as I don't really know her, but whatever. So I say 25lb & she says OMG! YOU MUST BE HUGE!! ***? (in perspective, i'm 5'5" & up to 155 now)
Then a couple hours later his mom calls & I tell her we've got a date for the c section & she says, oh you're having a c section, well that's good, you're too tiny, you probably couldn't birth a baby anyways!!! ***?

Oh, I got the twin comment again today. I was standing in line at the grocery store and the woman behind me (who I recognized as a customer from work) said that I must be having twins. Like, what the frack? Why doesn't she just come out and say, "Holy crap! You're huge!" Thanks, lady. Then after a pause she says that I must be getting close. Well no s**t, Sherlock, since you seem to think I'm so fricking huge. It was really hard to say "Two more weeks." without attitude. As we were leaving I turned to DH and said, I MUST be having twins. He shrugged and said I have a small frame. Be that as it may, I don't appreciate random people in the grocery line blurting out comments about the fact that I'm super pregnant. I then said to DH that if I were having twins they would likely be here by now anyway.

I get twin/triplet comments with each pregnancy!

With my first pregnancy I was so sick that I lost 20 lbs before gaining anything so I was always getting comments about how I was so tiny. Except for my husband's grandmother. She saw me one day, and I think I must have been about 6 or 7 months, so not even super far along/big and she said, "My, you've gotten fat!". I was still under my pre-pregnancy weight at that point!
This is the first pregnancy I didn't lose weight. It's also the first pregnancy where I've gotten comments from strangers. And the look on their faces when I tell them that I still have 2 months/6 weeks/a couple of weeks left. Gee, thanks.
I had a pregnant woman and her mother stop me at the grocery store and ask how far along I was because the pregnant woman wanted to get an idea of her size compared to other pregnant women (I think she said she was 5 months?). When I told her I was 7 months, she had this horrified look on her face. I told her, "Yup, and it'll get even bigger still."
It's like some people have never seen a pregnant woman in their life and can't believe how big the belly gets.

From about 28 weeks on I got lots of rude comments and looks because I had so much amniotic fluid (which is why I had Alexis prematurely). I looked like I was about ready to pop! I got the twin question quite frequently and the huge eye look when I told them I was due. They wondered if my due date was right! It got so frustrating!
My SIL would say, everytime I saw her, here comes the beached whale! I finally told her that I knew it wouldn't take her long to make a rude comment. Some people are so rude!

A lady my MIL works with asked when I was due and when I told her she said "That much longer?! My DIL is due any day now and she's barely showing!" Well, good for her.
Earlier on in my pregnancy I constantly was told I looked "too small." Whatever that meant. I went to a breastfeeding class around 28 weeks, and the lactation consulatant who was running the class actually had the nerve to ask in front of everyone in the class, "Are you sure you're pregnant? You don't look like it." SERIOULSY?!
Now I don't get those kinds of comments anymore. Just big eyes and people who cannot belive I am still "out and about" this far along in my pregnancy. I guess a pregnant woman really can never be the right size, huh? We're always too big or too small.
next comment you get about how BIG you are...just say well at least I have the excuse that i'm pg, give them an up and down look & walk away!
oh my word, LOL I work at a weight-loss center (well..worked!) and one obnoxious lady had the nerve to say to me, as SHE looked me up and down "why don't YOU get on the scale Kristine? You've gotten BIG!" Wel..DUH...I'm pregnant! It was so hard not to say something to that ^^ effect to her. Or inform her that even tho I am sooo big if I were to get on the scale she would see that I still weigh less then her!
Today, I get to work and run into the head honcho of our company. He says to me "You're still here?? You know, they do induce people after so long..." I said "Yeah, I know. I still have two weeks left until my due date." That shut him up. Again, this morning, a woman in the coffee room says to me "So, how much longer??" when I tell her she says "Oh jeeze, Ash, you look like you could go anytime. How are you feeling?" I said "ACTUALLY, I feel great. THANKS." Friggin'-A people, have you never seen a pregnant lady before?!!
