Well we took the dog to the vet today, as I posted a week and a half ago or so in the April chat thread that he randomly started loosing some fur on his back half. . . I was thinking it may be mange, but the more I read on it I thought maybe not. Well the checked him up and down, did a skin scrape to check for mange, ect. . . No mange yet. He has SOME signs [like the smell], but since the skin scrape came back negative they aren't treating him for it yet. There's still a 50/50 chance, though. Could be allergies. I think he mentioned hay fever as well. For now he has a shampoo that we have to wash him with 2x/week. . . Some antibiotics. . . And some steroids. If it is mange, then we'll start to see more patches show up as the steroids could intensify it. He goes back on the 16th for a check up.

I am glad it's not mange - As that could come and go, ect. . . And he could need meds for the rest of his life for it. And I am glad that it doesn't seem to be anything serious. . . But ugh. What a pain. He has to take 4 pills/day for the first 5 days then 3 pills a day and 4 every other day. That's gonna be fun! Thankfully the vet visit, skin scrape and meds didn't cost near as much as I feared they would!

Now I've gotta figure out some meal ideas that aren't chicken, and don't require the use of a BBQ and run to the store.

I'm glad you were able to get him to the vet and it didn't cost an arm and a leg. I had a feeling he was going to end up on steroids for it. Blech! I hope it clears up soon.

I just remembered there are ice pops in the freezer! Woo-hoo! I get some flavor with my ice tonight.

So tired! I didn't get any house work done today other then some laundry as DD and I ended up going with DH to the vet, then we had to pick up his new uniforms, came home and put DD down and rested for a bit before I made a meal plan & grocery list and headed to the store. I didn't plan to do that today, but I had to pick something up for dinner and just figured I'd do my big trip now. Once I got home I put away all the frozen/cold stuff, rested again and then woke DD up and we headed to our friends for dinner. 4 kids 5 and under, who all LOVE eachother and playing together. . . It was nuts! I was going to come home and finish putting groceries away and then cut some fabric - But I an totally knock out now. So I think I'll put the groceries away, rotate laundry and then just chill!

Oh, and I got a nice cold Dr.Pepper at the store today. Ahhh, so refreshing & yummy!

We're heading to Saskatchewan, almost on the Alberta border- we're driving, with a u-haul trailer- no professional movers here For a new job that pays almost double what he makes now, so we would really be crazy not to go!

I'm glad you got him to the vet Allyssa, I hope the meds help him!

Posting some maternity clothes for sale today, apparently I was smaller when I got pregnant with Sophia (by quite a bit! lol)

Glad to hear it wasn't too expensive for your dog Allyssa!

We did a big grocery shop on the weekend, and I had to clean out the entire fridge before putting anything away....I think the nesting may be beginning.

I'm going maternity clothes shopping tonight....for capris, and summer stuff.....since I have coupon...I love coupons And my mom will be paying the balance...I love "free" even better!

Yay coupons! My 10yr old asked me if i could find him a Nerf coupon so he could buy a water blaster I sure wish they made coupons for everything, but sadly my expertise is in the grocery department

As for cravings, i've gone right off bacon and sausage, and cooking it every day for my hubby is gross >.< However, i've avoided orange juice for years, since i was a teenager with glandular fever (i think that's mono?) and it made me so sick... but now i love the stuff! Weird

I am NOT loving this heat right now! if it's in the 90's now in GA, how am i gonna cope through the summer!!!!! I wish we could get on and put our pool up so i can jump in or a soak every day

Polly, I don't miss those humid summers. I'm originally from Missouri, and I remember July and August for plenty of 100-degree days with virtually 100% humidity. I know that Georgia is even worse. I will take SoCal and a dry heat any day! Of course, it's supposed to be cloudy and in the 60s today, which I'm not exactly loving for May either.

Humidity suuuuuuuuucks. My friend from Utah says it feels like you're swimming when you walk outside. Haha! She's really not used to it. I have curly prone to frizzy hair and it drives me nuts when I walk outside and my hair goes POOF! It's not too bad here yet. It's taking forever for it to warm up but yesterday and today it's in the eighties. The good thing about living in an apt is all I have to do is open my windows to cool it down when everybody else is turning on AC's We can usually make it to the end of July with just window fans and use our AC's for the tail end of summer.

As another naturally curly-haired girl, I don't think I ever had a good hair day in my 22 summers back in Missouri. I moved to Arizona (and now California), and my hair miraculously started looking somewhat presentable year-round.

I'll never forget senior prom. I had my hair done, and she spent hours straightening my hair. By the end of the evening (heck, within a couple of hours), my hair was all frizzed out again. What a waste!

Stupid stupid stupid! I had to open my stupid mouth and say "Oh Doc's been sleeping all night. Maybe it's having the B12 back in his system." talk about a friggin' jinx. He was up at midnight after going to bed later than usual. I was in the living room waiting for some cramping to die down and heard him crying. Went in there and sat with him for a bit. He was gassy so I think his tummy hurt then something was bothering his mouth so I woke up DH cause that freaked me out. But it turns out he just forgot to brush his teeth. Did that and then we both sat in there with him for a bit longer until we thought it was safe to leave. Tried to go back to bed but had to go back in two more times because he stripped and was banging on the tv and the wall (he had accidentally changed the channel so it was all static). Eventually fell asleep and woke up this morning to find him tearing up his room and screaming. It's pretty apparent that he never went back to bed. He's stimmy and loud and out of control overtired. I gave him some melatonin to calm him down. If he falls asleep I'm just going to call the school and tell them he's sick.

I need a vacation.

Morning ladies.

Sorry Doc didn't sleep well again Missa. It just breaks my heart reading your posts about his troubles. I wish there was an easy solution - heck, any solution for you.

Glad you got your dog to the Vet Allyssa. Hope the meds help him.

I hate humidity too but I wish we'd at least get some warmer weather. It hit 80 in March for 3 days then back down into the 50's ever since. We are still running our pellet stove at night since it's still getting down in the 30's. I'd be happy if it would hit and stay at about 75 for the rest of the summer.

I keep following him around and covering him with his blankets and pillows whenever he rests. All the lights in the house are off, it's pretty quiet. He thinks it's hilarious. Every time I cover him with blankets I give him kisses so now it's a game.

Well, whatever calms him down. Hugs to you and him.

I am so excited to get my baby's bedding in! I keep stalking fedex tracker LOL. I just think it will feel so much more real once I get his room done. Anyone else still waiting to even get started?

Hi ladies.

Sorry you've been having such hard times with Doc, Missa. I hope you can get him settled down soon.

How is everyone doing? I'm OK just hitting my moody stage and not in the mood for much to be honest. Had some drama with dsd since Sunday so it put a drain on me. Granted DH had to do the worst part of it, but of course I have to deal with all the back lash of it. Anyways...I think the weather is contributing to my mood. I've been sleeping in the mornings, something I normally don't do. And I just flat out want to knock someone upside the head. No one in particular, I'm just annoyed.
