I'm at a loss on these boogers. I practically never knew they existed living in the miserably humid state of Florida, but now coming to Idaho where theres no humidity at all, does baby Ava need one? I've heard mixed reviews on them saying theyre bad cause she wont adjust. Any advice?

My MIL suggested we put one on our registry but we already have one.

We heat our house with a wood stove so it can get dreadfully dry during the winter months and I think we'll make good use of it. If you want one I've heard to make sure its a cool-air one, because the ones that steam out hot vapour are dangerous for infants.

We use one in the winter & when she has a cold. It's a great thing to have on hand.

I use a vicks brand cheapo humidifier with a big resevoir. Works great for when he has a cold. I also use it

Vicks 1.5-Gallon Vaporizer with Night-Light - V-150 : Target

soooo much easier to clean than the fancy models.

We have one, and have used it a handful of times with the boys when they were sick.

I have only used ours for DD when she was sick - Congested and coughy. She's lived both in [dry] California and [humid, tho not horribly] Hawaii. I didn't register for ours. . . I don't think I even got it until after she turned 1 and was sick.

I got one for me because pregnancy rhinitis was kicking my butt. I love it and so does DD because it has a projector.

I have rhinitis too I wake up every 2 to 3 hours! I had with my first too. Did you have it with every pregnancy?

I second the Vicks cheapie, we have 2 & they are great! When Evie is sick I add some Vicks Vapo Steam to it.

I actually didn't. And it came as a huge and irritating surprise. I would go to sleep, wake up a couple of hours later stopped up, struggle to go back to sleep and then inevitably wake up around 3am unable to breathe through my nose at all, sneezing with a runny nose. It was like having a cold every night and I was miserable until we got the humidifier. I'm pushing to get one for my son too but I'm nervous about him messing with it in the middle of the night.
