So we decided to do this nursery this weekend while the other 2 kids were staying with their grandparents for the weekend. We still have a lot to do in this room so its not done. Still have a lot of wall art to put up and a closet maid cubical system for the empty wall.
This is a picture of the dresser before we redid it, as you can tell, it was hideous.
Mid Finish
Picking out wall colors (We went with the lighter color)
Before Picture of room (This is our 4th bedroom, we were letting my sister live with us while she goes to college, but she moved out and this was mid her packing her stuff.
DH painting the room
Dried paint, about to shampoo the carpet.
Fully stocked closet.
Finished dresser
Closet door, spray painted the knobs.
Almost finished, new blinds
Started doing the collage. I have a picture that is going to be in space on the bottom middle but don't have a frame yet and i'm getting a silver retro clock for the middle.
Added curtains and Rocko really likes the baby's room
So we still need curtains also and a couple other things. I'll add more pics as it comes along!
Oh my gosh, soo cute! While the diaper stash isn't as impressive to me (I'm not brave enough for cloth with my first so I don't know everything that goes into it!), your organizational skills do!
Some of you ladies refinishing your dressers have left me a bit of hope. I LOVE Ava's dresser (and we spent a small fortune on it, unfortunately), but I was never a huge fan of the color. I'm thinking once she upgrades to a big girl bed, I might attempt a refinishing job!
Wow, looks great! I love the color and the white trim really makes it all pop nicely. What type of paint did you use to refinish the dresser? I'm thinking of doing that with an old side table and I have some paint left from the nursery, but I wasn't sure if latex paint would work for something like that
Wow you guys did an amazing job, I love the dresser!! What a gorgeous nursery

DH primed it with zissner oil passed primer. While its pain to clean up oil based paints, it really helped the dresser look awesome. do NOT get around this paint while your DH is painting though it is very very strong, but dries fast. Did 2 coats of primer and sanded between each coat. Then I used a low odor no VOCs behr premium satin paint in white. i added Floetrol to the paint, which is a paint additive, and it helped reduce brush marks and allowed the paint to go on more smoothly and dried slower so I could really touch up. We then used a water based polycrylic in clear satin to seal it which made a huge difference. If you don't use a polycrylic, the paint will definitely chip and won't withstand the wear and tear of a dresser.
