Approximately or to the nearest $100 or £100...how much have you spent specifically on this bub (not counting donation or hand-me-down values)?

I don't think I've done too bad - probably around £300-£350, which includes a rocker, play gym, cot mobile, travel system incorporating car seat and pram/buggy, bottles, a microwave steriliser, clothes, Moses basket, and a few odd bits of bedding, toys and accessories.

Mind as a BTDT mom I already had Daniel's old cot, Shaun's mum has bought us loads of diapers and given us loads of hand-me-down toys and blankets, my mum bought us quite a few bits including hats, a changing mat, bibs and pacis for my birthday, AND a few of the above were second-hand from baby sales. So for a first-timer I'd expect the spend to be possibly more.

I still need to get a changing bag which can double as a handbag and a sling/carrier and an initial tin of formula - as well as maternity pads for me. But that's it now unless I just happen to "see" something.

I would say with all the clothes and diapers I bought I've spent maybe $100 at the most. Her car seat will be about $280 though. Add in Dr and Lab bills and that's a whole other story.

Oh lordy....let's count!

Nursery furniture $1000 plus $150 delivery/installation
Nursery artwork $400
Nursery rug $79
Bedding, Mattress, Changing Table Mattress and Cover $650
Clothing $400-500
Glider $1850 (although this is a very modern leather piece that will last long after nursery phase and is actually in our living room

Still need to do monitor, car seat and bases (3 - DH, Me, our Nanny), double stroller, and small things....probably $750 to go!

Will probably be around 6k. Good grief! Thanks a lot for making me add it up, haha!

Not much at all. Got a ton of hand me down clothes, and bought a few more at the thrift stores. We'll buy some newer clothes in a couple of weeks. $60 for the rock n play, $15 for his dresser, $30 for the rocking chair, probably about $30 for some decorations, the car seat and my nursing cover were from a gift card. We still have some stuff to get in the next few weeks, small stuff like diapers and blankets and I need some nursing bras. Oh and at some point we'll have to buy a new baby bathtub because according to my friend my old one is shot. So in the end probably a little over $200. Depending on if I decide he needs more clothes or not maybe closer to $300 because what us more fun that clothes shopping for a baby.

I am using a good amount of my DS old clothes for this baby to save money (sleepers and onesies). With that being said, I would have to guess that I am close to the 1k range at this point. I still need a few things I need to get so....

I've probably spent around $250-$300. That's mainly cloth diaper covers, diaper bag, flower headbands, little bit of clothes, wet bag, crib sheet, & car seat cover. I'm holding off on buying anything more until after my shower because I have a feeling we will be buying cloth diapers. Thankfully between the stuff we have been given so far and the stuff we kept from our DS there really isn't a ton of stuff that we actually "need".

$34 blooming bath
$50 swing

Maybe $30 in clothes.

So around $400 and a lot of that was splurged lol.

I've spent about $900 so far...and still counting b/c I just can't stop buying. The bulk of that money is from her furniture though.

right now i think we are on the 600 euro mark - with another 400 euro to go (money from selling the puppies). I know its alot but this is our first baby and we dont have any hand me downs. I have managed to save us alot by getting second hand furniture and most of Noah's clothes are from second hand shops. Ireland is just a very expensive country to live in!

Umm, this number hurts to think about. Hopefully my number will be much lower on baby #2.

Furniture - $1000
New clothes - $600
Thrift clothes/bumbo/misc - $100
Curtains - $100
Changing pad/accessories - $70
All the misc stuff I just totaled on Amazon - $750
Room decor - $100 (wall mural supplies, small vases to put the cherry blossom decorations from my shower in, the love birds, shelves, etc)
Disposable diaper/wipe stash - $200 (and whats sad is its not even THAT many diapers and wipes. ugh, they're expensive and all coupon bargains!!)

I'd say well over $3000 since I'm sure there's stuff I'm forgetting about.
At least with that number, she has enough clothes (I hope), to last her through a year old, and even quite a few things for beyond that. As well as a dresser that will transition with her through at least her teenage years, though we plan to replace the clearance crib with a bed since they're not usually in good enough shape to actually use as a full size bed after baby years.
Here's to hoping and praying BFing works out, I can't afford formula after everything else!

I was hoping #2 would be cheaper too, but it was about 10x more expensive! We were given EVERYTHING for DS in 4 or 5 baby showers.........all we did was buy $599 crib & dresser set. No showers with #2 and now I see how fortunate we really were the first time around.

Plus now that it's a girl and not a boy, a lot of stuff (ie all the clothes) is worthless. Going to try to consign it this week to see what I can get!!

I also think having two in nurseries is hurting me...........I wouldn't have had to buy another set of nursery furniture if we'd waited another year but I am about to be 34 and DH is 41........so couldn't really wait either!

Glider - $25
Diaper covers, diaper pail - $35
Bottles - $10
Cosleeper - $70
Books - $25

=$165

I will probably end up buying last minute things in the final few weeks that I forgot. Like a baby hair brush, nail clippers and washcloths.

We haven't bought furniture yet. But clothes and other random things like blankets, toys, stroller, car seat, etc. probably totals over $1000 :O. I'm a shopaholic, what can I say!

Furniture's a huge expense for sure. Even Daniel's cot cost £400+ when I bought it (it's a solid pine one which converts to a junior bed so worth the money) - I sold all my music/concert merchandise from my teen/young adult days to pay for it. So glad to get second use out of it! So I definitely spent more with him because of that.

Not sure but I know it's well over $3000 by now. It would have been close to $5000 had we not been given so much and the nursery furniture was bought for us by family. But we've bought a lot of clothes, diapers, paint, room decor, rug, clothes for me (I count because I wouldn't have bought them had it not been for Elias) and all the little things. Way more than we wanted to but since it's our first, it's to be expected.

I think we're doing pretty good. I've spent roughly $80 on cloth diapers. About $30 on clothes from Mom2Mom/garage sales. About $180 on her 9 piece crib bedding set. $25 on a jumper. A stuffed animal that was $15. I'm sure there's a few things I'm forgetting but that puts us at $330.

I guess if you figure in her carpet and paint and blinds it would be more, but those things were necessities wether baby was coming or not so I didn't add them in.

I'd say around $2k. However, I'm thankful my parents bought us the crib and dresser!
