I keep hearing about this spray most hospitals give you. Mine does not. I just get the squirt bottle to fill up with warm water and the mesh undies and gigantic pads. My mom told me what it was called in her day but I looked and it's obviously not called that anymore. Help a girl out. I am DETERMINED to have that stuff this time.

Thank you! I had stitches with my son and was torn up from the floor up from pushing for hours and really could have used that. With my daughter I didn't tear and I healed a lot faster but still, anything to make that process easier you know. Not looking forward to the recovery process.

I used Witch Hazel but didn't find that it worked very well. This time I'm doing the Witch Hazel padcicles. Haha!

My hospital provides it, and it really helped with the tiny little tears inside. There is nothing like hot urine hitting freshly torn skin.

It's called Gin. You apply it liberally to your mouth.

That stuff worked wonders for me! And I know this is awful, but here once they give you the can its yours. They tell you to take it home sooooooo when I am about 6 hours from discharge I tell them I ran out (and hide the can) and get a fresh new one that I get to take home. Ok so its not honest but I dont think you can buy it and I dont think the write perscriptions for it either. Oh my hospital also gives a foam that you put on the pad, that stuff is awesome too! I rotate them out each time I go pee!

Oh I think I got that stuff in the hospital! I can't remember how well it worked/didn't work. I hated the Witch Hazel Pads. It made me feel weird down there - I can't describe it. It wasn't a comfortable feeling. I used a SITZ bath at times which also seemed to help - As weird as it is. But my absolute favorite is just the peri bottle with luke warm water & epsom salt when I pee. I saved my peri bottle [it's made the past 2 moves with us] just in case I don't get one this time - But I saw that they have them here as well!
Edit: After seeing Brittany's post, maybe it was the Tucks pads that I used that made me feel weird. . .

Naughty!
Thanks everybody. I'm stocking up on everything I can get my hands on. I'm flat out terrified of the recovery process. I know it's necessary and you just have to muscle through it but it seems in the past I've missed out on all these wonderful things that others were using which could have made the process a tad more pleasant. Not this time. I'm going into this armed for battle.

I got this also from the hospital when I had my son, and yes it helped me a lot. I plan on using this again this time around also.

Popping in from the March '12 PR. You can buy it at Walgreens. I got some there after I had DS.
