Are you already planning your next one?
Will you be getting baby's name or maybe a symbol or picture tattoo? Or have you had your next tattoo in mind for a while now but couldn't get it whilst you were pregnant?
I'm thinking of getting a dove on my left hand with maybe Noah's birth date under it. I dont want his name written on me as i have loads of script tattoos already but a dove - from the Noah's ark story - could work just as well.

I'm planning on an anklet tattoo with each of my kids initials as charms, with 4 kids (and maybe more in the future), getting each their own tattoo could become a lot

I've always wanted to get one but haven't figured out what yet. Having twins might be just the inspiration though. The husband is planning on getting tasteful twin dragons since the kids are being born in the (lucky) year of the dragon.

I've had many plans for many awesome tattoos. But I've been pregnant or nursing for several years now and it will probably be several more years before I'm done. So it will be a while before I get anything new.

I've been trying to figure out what to get next for years now. . . The last one I got was in 2008 or 2009 - So I am over due for another! My next one will deff be something for my girls - But I am totally not sure what. I don't want the typical tattoo most people get for your kids, but I want something representing them.

It generally depends on the artist and the state you are in. It is not common to allow nursing moms to get tattoo'd around here.
That being said, I got my half sleeve while nursing and there was a few problems with bleeding and healing, and my artist was nervous about the risk of infection and recommended that I don't do it again.

I've always wanted another tattoo and I've even designed two different ones (a dolphin concept and a rose concept) but I've never committed. In the past year I've been thinking of getting a script tattoo (an exerpt from John Donne's A Valediction Forbidding Mourning) but I always thought they were kind of boring and the tattoo shop is town is really talented so if I went there I'd want to get a good piece of art.

I do plan to get Sarah's name tattooed at some point but I haven't decided where on my body yet.
I have had several tattoos done while nursing (and actually 2 done when I didn't know I was pregnant) and never had any issues.

I was just thinking about this recently. I plan on getting one to represent the one I lost, but maybe I'll do something to incorporate both my lost Roo and Ethan. For Roo I want a baby kangaroo with wing, maybe I'll add a rainbow to it for Ethan since he's my rainbow baby.

Nothing to do with tattoos, but it's not very often I come across someone else who loves John Donne. I think a tattoo with some of his poetry would be absolutely SO cool.

Definitely planning my next tattoo. I start planning the next tat right after GETTING a tattoo! LOL
I won't get a tattoo for my kids until after we're done having kids though... because I want a big mural-type piece to represent all my kids on my calf. It'll be a fantasy theme (a dragon for Seamus, unicorn for Rhiannon, wizard for second boy, mermaid for second girl. If we have two more boys then it'll be a wizard and a knight... if we have two more girls it'll be a mermaid and a fairy). So that tattoo won't be for a LOOOOONG time as we plan to have 4 kids total.
I'm not quite sure what I want my next tat to be. Maybe the solar system across the right side of my collar bone (that extends to my back). Possibly the chakras straight down the back of my left leg. I've also been considering a nice goddess symbol on my right arm. Not planning the tattoo until next October, so I have a lot of time to think about it.
As for getting a tattoo while nursing... it does depend on the artist. I got a tattoo done while I was still nursing my daughter (she was almost a year old when I got it), and it worked out fine. If I get my next tattoo when I have planned (for my birthday next year in October, so baby will be about 14 months old), I'll still be nursing, but I'm ok with that. I don't think I'd be ok getting a tattoo if baby was only like 3 months old or something though.
