Since the doctor's guesses are just that, I thought it'd be neat to see what experience BTDT moms have had with their baby's birth weights. Were they similar to yours and your SO's birth weights? What gestational age were they when born?

My daughter was born on her due date at 7 pounds 8 ounces

I was 8 pounds and DH was 8 or 9.

She did follow the same growth pattern as me
And my two sisters though. Me and my
Sisters were 18 pounds at a year old and so was she.

DH and I were both around the same weight (somewhere between 6 - 7 pounds, I can't remember exactly) and our son was 6 pounds 5 oz.

My Midwife never does guesses on babies weights.

My 5 babies have ranged from 8.1 to 8.14. DH was in the mid 8 lb range i think. I was like 7.4 when i was born. I also have very mild GD. ---all of mine were born between 37+5 to 39. My biggest was my second earliest...my smallest was my earliest.

I've had an OB that believed that a baby's weight had nothing to do with genetics because(to her) it doesnt make sense that it could be, because some babies have big and tall parents and are 5lb, and some tiny parents have 10 lbers at the same gestation. She believed it was most entirely based on the mothers insulin tolerance/blood sugars. Makes some sense because most babies are in the 7 lb range. She told me that, even if undiagnosed, she believed that all babies born over 8lb had a mom with sugar issues, even if just a slight one.

I have no proof of any of this being true but I do think it makes some sense if we're talking about averages of babies born full term. It's curious to ponder anyway..

My babies have ranged from 6 lbs to 8.9 lbs. All after EDD. There is no pattern, lol. DH and I were similar birth weights at 7ish lbs.

I was nearly 9 lbs, and DH was 6.

DS was 7lb at 39 weeks.

I was 8 pounds 8 ounces on my due date
DH was 8 pounds 15 ounces (not sure when his due date was)

Jackson was born at 41 weeks and was 10 pounds even
Jacob was born at 39 weeks 3 days and was 9 pounds 15 ounces

Alice will be born at 39 weeks 3 days (if I don't go into labor before) so I am anxious to see how much she weighs.

I was 7 something and I have no clue what Chris weighed.

Audrey was predicted to be high 7 to 8 lbs and was 6 lbs 13 oz right at 40 weeks.
Sam was 6 lbs 3 oz at 39 weeks.
Sarah is predicted to be high 7 lbs by 39 weeks... I"m not betting on that though.

I have to chime in just because I was actually freaking out because he guessed her to be about 7lbs and would be well into the 8lb mark if we would have made it to 40 weeks. Well she was born 37 weeks and 2 days and 7lbs 9oz... this was just 2 days after his guesstimate

I believe I was really close to 7lbs give or take a few ounces and I'm not really sure what DH was

I was 6 pounds 4 ounces and dh was 9 pounds, not sure about the ounces
dd1 was 6 pounds 6 ounces...we'll see about this next one

I was 6lbs 12oz at birth. DH was close to 10lbs, I believe [but was supposedly a month over due]. DD1 was 7lbs 0.1oz at birth at 38w 4d. My family makes small babies.

I was 6lbs 8 oz, and Greg was 7-something.

Noah was 5lbs 4 oz at 37 weeks.
Caiden was 6lbs. 4 oz at 39 weeks, 3 days.
Owen was 7 lbs. 5 oz at 39 weeks.

I'm hoping since this isn't a boy that she'll not continue the upward path!

DD was born at 40 weeks 5 days and she was 7 lbs 2 oz.

I was born via c-section a couple of weeks before my EDD so I was 5 lbs. Also, my mother smoked while pregnant so that probably contributed to a lower birth weight.

I was adopted. I dont know what George weighed either.
Jess was 8 lbs., 9 ounces at 36 1/2 weeks.
Christian was 8 lbs., 13 ounces at 38 weeks.

I weight 8lbs, 4oz, Troy weighed 7-something.

Alyssa was born at 41 wks and weighed 8lbs, 1oz.
Rylan was born at 39 wks, 5days and weighed 8lbs, 7 oz.
Sophia was born at 39 wks, 1 day and weighed 8lbs, 11 oz.

Daniel was born at 41+6 and was 7lbs 13oz. They had guesstimated all along that he would be around average. I don't know what birth weight I was but I know I was an average baby. I don't know about my ex, Daniel's father.

This baby has been guesstimated as slightly larger than average so I'm guessing 8-9lb depending when he/she decides to make an entrance.
